Do you equalize?
Oh wow, I just realised I may be responsible for this whole 'food' comparison thing. Hahaha, I never thought it would have lead to a full on BBQ chicken cook off! However, there have been some very interesting chicken points made. I particulariy like the reference to 'chickenphiles'...- HeavyBassMan

Roll Call for Team AKG
AKG K81DJs........The very 'best bang for buck phone' I've ever owned, ever..... My first reaction upon first hearing the 81s was..... "OMG!". I'd never even expected them to sound as half decent as they were. Hand down, THE BEST purchase in headphones I've ever made. TOTAL VALUE FOR MONEY!- HeavyBassMan

A900 Tweaks
I never needed to mod my A900s. They sounded great when I first got them, and still sound great today. However, I'd recommend the A1000 Pads (as xxlMusikfreak already has earlier in this thread). Even better, get hold of a pair of A900LTDs. Congratulations Phoenix991, I believe you...- HeavyBassMan

Do you equalize?
Yes. I use EQ. Here is why.....(sorry a bit of a rant!) I just don't trust studio professionals that much to mix and master a perfectly good sounding recording that I will like personally. Are their ears so perfect or something? hmmmm I highly doubt it. Just because a recording sounds good to...- HeavyBassMan

OK NOW after all the FOTM madness! k81dj vs a900 for sound quality period
I currently own almost all the phones mentioned in this thread. K81DJ, A900s, A900LTD, DT770, KSC75s. For 'on the go', I prefer the K81DJs. At home, I just can't resist kicking back for a few hours with the A900s and A900LTDs! Both are really great cans on their own. It's not worth comparing...- HeavyBassMan

5G iPod video w/Pocketdock? Does it work?
Thanks for all the replys everyone. I've found a store near me which I could purchase a Pocketdock from. I might just try that one out for starters. I'd rather buy it locally if possible, and then if it's no good I'll take it back to the store and demand a refund.- HeavyBassMan

I've just put some velour pads on my K81DJs. This has made the K81DJs really comfortable indeed. If you own a pair of the HD25-1s velour pads, try this easy mod out. I highly recommend it.- HeavyBassMan

Headphones for Ipod
Going from the phones I own, I would have to recommend the AKG K81DJs. I have both the HD25s and AKG K81Djs. However, I have to say that when I did an A-B comparison I find the K81DJs more 'fun' straight from the iPod. At their lower price, they are really hard to beat. I love my HD25s...- HeavyBassMan
