Digital cables like USB are a total scam. A bit is a bit... Power cable? Lol, you think 6 ft of premium copper is gonna make a difference when there are miles and miles of junk copper wires connecting the sub station to your home.

That's not the problem.  Highest EQ I have is 3dB, hardly anything.   Anyway, the issue is solved with using optical output on my mac instead of USB.  I believe the post processing causes some clocking or mortherboard noise with the USB.

HD800 is an high impedance phone that requires high voltage but low current to drive. LCD-2, being planar, requires the exact opposite, thus being much more sensitive to changes in wire gauge. Same reason is why your electricity from the power station are in high voltage rather than high current.

Just notice something worth mentioning.   If you move the headphones forward relative to your ears, and let the back of your ears rest on the back of ear pads inner wall, I notice a huge increase in bass and soundstage.
