My friend has a pair and I was able to try them and what I found was exactly what everyone else is saying the mid bass is great, but the sub bass is lacking, they are still good headphones though!   Hope this helps!

I'm looking at getting the ultrasone hfi-580's for bass, now how much would the bass benefit from an amp? My source is an iPad/ ipod touch, if it would benefit the bass from an amp which amp would it be it has to be portable amp too my budget is probably 50-75$. Thanks!

Just buy them from a authorized seller and get a warranty then you know your probably getting the real thing but just in case your not then you have the warranty.

I have the pioneer hdj 500 and I wanted bass as well they have bass but not the bass you looking and in my opinion the are uncomfortable so get the xb700.
