Have you guys tried the Apogee Duet 2 as a DAC (paired with the HD650's and Crack OTL)?

This might be slightly off topic, but where would all the components be placed in the signal chain? MacBook Pro --> DAC --> Line out to Bottlhead Crack OTL --> Headphones   Does this seem like an appropriate chain?

Do you guys know if the HD650 could be properly driven by the Apogee Duet 2 (30 Ohms output impedance)? I read somewhere that the "1/8" rule is what I should live by, but I have also read that I should try to match the source's output impedance with the headphone impedance. 

I have asked Apogee and am awaiting their reply! Will keep you all informed as to whether they actually abide by this "1/8" rule or not. Not to refute the previous poster here (as the 'rule' is well documented on the internet), but I just want to put it out there for visibility's sake.
