my ipod 5.5g sounds immensely better through E500's with an amp, used both Tomahawk and Xin Supermicro.

i think i have a pretty good idea which amp i like the best already just put rockbox onto my 5.5g 80gb tonight too, it's been a long wait but a good week for portable audio for me what do you guys recommend for burn-in radio/pink/white/random playlists ???

Ordered Feb 8 Received May 24 I actually emailed Xin and cancelled my order as i ended up buying a Tomahawk from Ray but i never got a reply and i just decided if it turned up well i'd just deal with it I have to say i am pretty well blown away with it after only using it for 30 mins so...

you're better off improving your phones before getting an amp imo, the tomahawk is nice and it's definitely a keeper but the changes are more subtle than i expected with my 5.5g ipod + E500's so far ....once i get it broken in it might open up a bit more i guess.

not necessarily my tomahawk arrived within 7-8 working days with no customs charge, ask ray to tick 'gift' on customs decl....he did and it sailed through.

a single 7800GT will not be able to handle recent games ie. quake4/doom3/hl2/far cry etc @ 1600x1200 with medium to high levels of AA and AF. for the latest shader heavy games like F.E.A.R and COD2 you will probably just get acceptable avg framerates with no filtering applied......but low...

i haven't used one myself but i do know the performance isn't great.....comparable to decent air. of course if you only care about noise and disregards performance altogether it's probably a decent product for your needs.

i use some shure e3c's in london & they isolate pretty good for me.

have you listened to the elite pro model? i'm not saying everyone should rush out and buy it......everyone has different needs......but i wasn't aware if you knew the top model was technically superior to the others.

i got the elite pro x-fi because i wanted a card with a nice DAC which i could route via analog to my yamaha amp for playing music but also be a good gaming card. the difference in music between the elite pro and my audigy2 is quite noticeable .....i guess the cheaper x-fi's would sound...

the md33's have worse cable noise than the e3c's .......quite a fair bit more. I can hear eating,drinking quite clearly with the sharps.
