Gustard X20pro DAC (ES9028Pro)
Sorry I originally posted wrong info. I have mine connected to an iFi amp and use both of its (the iFi) outputs simultaneously. I also have done this on other amps as well. Never tried it on the X20 pro directly though. Sorry.- RonD2

NEW - Schiit Asgard 2
My guess is that's a postproduction mod and one of the reasons for the shipping delay. I can hear hum in my A2 but only close up, i.e. less than 2 inches. Not audible at my seating position, about arms length. It doesn't bother me. I continue to be impressed with the sonics. Does anybody know...- RonD2

Schiit Magni Headphone Amplifier
I had the static problem for a while. It's cured so have faith. I tried everything. I put the amp (Magni) on a separate power strip from the computer (same circuit), replaced a long, cheap USB printer cable with a short $25 audio quest, moved the Modi away from computer and ext hard drives, used...- RonD2

NEW - Schiit Asgard 2
I agree with the A2 praise above. Listening through an HD650 and very impressed. The A2 was a drop-in replacement for a Magni. The A2 clearly bests the Magni in all the usual ways. I am most struck by the increased soundstage and tighter, more forceful bass. Also very impressed with it's...- RonD2

Battle Of The Flagships (58 Headphones Compared)
Thanks so much for this epic labor of love! Thought I would add my experience with the K1000. I bought serial no. 10,0XX new many years ago (10+?) and was plagued by the rattle. It always occurred in the right driver. It was a terrible yang to their otherwise wonderful ying. Very...- RonD2

Impressions of the Ortofon e-Q7 versus the IE8, CK100, SE530, FX500 and X10 (plus CK10 discussion from post #120)
I can't seem to get the triple flanges to work for me. Strange as I am a long time user on them with my Ety's. I have been pleasantly surprised at how good the CK10's sound using the Hybrids up over the ears. I stream flacs unamped through a iPhone 3G and am very happy. Better than I ever...- RonD2

Futuristic sounding music...
Maybe try some Brain Eno. Music for Airports is easy to like. Try some contemporary "Classical" music if you wan to be more adventurous. Agree with the Steve Reich, John Adams recommendations made earlier in the thread. I would add Vasks and Rautavarra. Amazon can give you a quick taste... -

Etymotic for high-end?
I have both and like both. The Ety's are obviously very isolating. Not only do they isolate you from your environment (airplanes, etc), they also don't bother people near you. I have used them in bed w/o bothering my wife, etc. Primary use is in portable settings (with iPhone). K1000's are...- RonD2

What classical music should I try?
Agree with the Barber Adagio. Easy to like. May also want to try Shostakovich's String Quartets. The Fitzwilliam quartet recording is excellent. Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion and Celeste (many recordings available) is also modern sounding. -
As much as it pains me to say, I have been transformed to a speaker user
Ideally, one would have at least one set of speakers, a non-isolating headphone (K1000 for example) and an isolating headphone (ER-4S for airplanes, etc.). You can spend a lifetime evolving each.- RonD2
