Youtube song bitrate and good headphones

Between May 2011 and July 2012, Youtube used 152 kbps AAC and since July 2012 Youtube has used 192 kbps AAC compression. Videos uploaded since 2011 are far superior to 128 kbps MP3. I have never heard the ATH-M50's, but even with a medium quality source like Youtube, there should be a...

    Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1 vs Sennheiser PC 360 vs Astro A40 2013

Yeah, I went the Zalman clip-on mic way as well and the mic is atrocious. It's amazingly sensitive to everything around it, except your voice. Uni-directional mics can work, but the Zalman clip-on doesn't cancel any noise so if you turn up your voice volume you're just pissing off your friends...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I want to get a pair of headphones for a mix of gaming and music. I have AD700's, but I'm looking for something more music-oriented. I can live with a hit to the soundstage.   I've looked at these:   AKG K601 AKG K701/K702 AKG Q701 beyerdynamic DT880 Premium Sennheiser...

    Q701 impressions thread

Quote: It'd be quite expensive to test those phones. I'd need the phones and an amp to see if there was an improvement. That requires money. I have none of those.

    Q701 impressions thread

I've got an X-Fi Forte 7.1 with a built-in headphone amp rated for headphones up to 600 ohm (similar to the Xonar STX). Would this be insufficient for the Q701? I can't find much info on the NJM4580 chip that is used, so I guess we should just assume that it can amp as well as the Xonar STX.

Quote:   Yes, I have. That is where I found the Q701. After looking around a bit more, I've concluded that Beyer's phones aren't for me. I don't think they'll suit me well with recessed mids and piercing highs.

Quote: Well, I'm not quite sure about the mids and the soundstage. Supposedly has noticeably worse mids and soundstage than the Q701. I'll look closer at Beyerdynamic's lineup tomorrow.

I have AD700's that I bought a year back for FPS gaming. Now I would like to move on to something that covers music a bit better.   I like a lot of different music. I quite enjoy electronic and DnB'ish music, but acoustic music and good vocals can bring me to tears. At the same time, I...

I've got a pair of AD700's for gaming, but I'm looking for something more neutral/warm that will do music better.   Circumaural and a loose fit (AD700's are secure, but not tight on my head for reference) Preferably closed design for isolation Punchy, but not bloated bass Strong mids and...

What headphones are you using for that?

Picking sound card mostly for gaming

So, basically, Forte or low-end?   EDIT: There's nothing cheaper. I have prices from Denmark, Germany and the UK, there's nothing less expensive in Europe (at least that I can find). Trust me, if I was only talking about the local electronics store, I wouldn't have these options at all...

Picking sound card mostly for gaming

Quote:   Possibly the most unlucky timing ever seen. As I said above, no, it can't be had for $80. I could get it for $110 though, but wouldn't it be better to get the Bravura?

But I'm not American which is why I listed a bunch of prices that are way higher than in the US.

Picking sound card mostly for gaming

I'm DANISH, these are the best prices I can get.   I play FPS a lot and I need a good sound card for positioning. At the same time, I enjoy music, so I'd like a card that doesn't suck for normal clarity and such. I use AD700's for FPS gaming, but it also has to support my 5.1 surround...

Hey guys!   I'm looking for some headphones.   I listen to a lot of rock, drum and bass, electric, that sorta thing, but the headphones will primarily be used for FPS games (and this is what I want them to be good at).   My budget is currently around $150 or €100 or £90, but I'm...
