DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

Quick question about USB cables. So far I've made two. Both work fine when charging my FiiO X3 from the wall, and when used to plug the X3 into a computer either for file transfers or charging, they work exactly the way I would expect them to work. However, when I use the same cables for any...

I'd expect the IE80 from NCIX to go on sale for $199-$249 or so later this year. To my knowledge, they've been at that price point at least once a year since they've been released. I missed out on Black Friday 2012, as it sold out extremely quickly, but I waited an entire year and NCIX had the...

    Headphone Sightings 2

I saw someone with some sort of Ultimate Ears today. I'm ashamed to say I don't know much about the lineup other than the TF10 and UE900, but looking at some pictures, it may have been the UE11 or UE18 in blue.   You were sitting across from me on the skytrain. I was very obviously staring and...

    Headphone Sightings 2

On the train heading downtown yesterday or the day before, there was a guy across from me with SR60s, and another guy nearby with what I think are either SE535 or SE846. I wasn't close enough to be certain. He was using some sort of amp off his phone, too.   I was using the IE80 standing by...

    Canadian Head-Fi'ers counting

Hi. I'm from Vancouver.   To answer the $200 question, there's someone local on craigslist selling bnib ue900 for $200....if that counts. I thought about it, looked at my IE80, and told myself no.

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/krajee/hd650_zps235cf787.jpg   My first, for my HD650. Unfortunately, I had the red/black connectors on the wrong sides. It wasn't until I hot glued the first connector that I had an "oh ****" moment out of nowhere. A 5' cable sure beats a 10' cable when...

NCIX (Canada, at least) puts them out at $199.99 once a year, or so it seems. It sold out in minutes in 2012, but I actually waited about 10 months or so until the next huge sale. They also had IE800 for $499 a few days ago, but that sold out very quickly....before I had a chance.

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

Quote: http://en.mdpc-x.com/   You would be looking for the sata heatshrink. I'm not familiar with the stax cable, but the shrink can stretch enough to fit over a standard sata data cable.   They're only open at certain times, but the quality is top-notch.
