NEW Burson HA-160DS Integrated DAC/Amp
Quote: Haha, thats allright, i know its a lot to shell out for an amp, and i was worried about the issue of whether it would drive the HD 650's as i had heard people had trouble. I read up and found out that apparently the HA-160D was designed with the 650's in mind. No question about...- VinylStar

NEW Burson HA-160DS Integrated DAC/Amp
Quote: I'm probably about 10 hours in burn in wise, and i have noticed that the amp has relaxed a bit, the mids seem to been increasing in quality, and the bass is increasingly tightening without it reducing the impact. I am going away for the weekend and have left the amp in the...- VinylStar

NEW Burson HA-160DS Integrated DAC/Amp
Quote: I think that's because the 160D has a pre-amp? It is definetaly enough to drive HD 650's. They make the 650's sing EDIT: Just checked the Burson site, they are both "Output power: 200mW/300 Ohms, 800mW/60 Ohms"- VinylStar

NEW Burson HA-160DS Integrated DAC/Amp
Second day is going well, havent really had a chance to burn it in much, but the thing that i have noticed the most difference between running the headphones straight off my computer is just the clarity of music. The instruments have just separated so much more and they are so much easier to...- VinylStar

NEW Burson HA-160DS Integrated DAC/Amp
Well i just picked a 160DS up, first one they sold :D. i'll let you guys know over the next few days how it burns it/how it sounds. First impressions are amazing, the bass and mid range and just so luscious and just hang over my ears. It has actually also tightened the bass up very nicely too...- VinylStar

so i compared my amp to multiple sources last night. i hooked it up to my mates CD player and the static was actually worse than my laptop. i also tried my iphone and its exactly the same as my laptop. from here i see that i have a few options, use some deoxit to clean the connections and plugs...- VinylStar

Would any specific lubrication be necessary? i will have to wait a few weeks to get my soundcard as it is at home, but tonight i will go back and compare the noise it makes when connected to other sources, i.e. my iphone and a CD player if i can find one. how do i check the bias? i googled it...- VinylStar

Quote: Im connecting them into the AUX section of the amp. i went through all three and this one has the least amount of distortion. i have an external sound card at home, so i might grab that and connect them up and see if that makes a difference. the RCA cable is only about 20 bucks...- VinylStar

bump - Another thing, i have a pretty low quality cable connecting my laptop to the amplifier, will this be degrading the sound quality and maybe causing the output of the amp to be a bit less clear than it could be?- VinylStar

Yeah when the headphones are plugged straight into my computer there is no hiss at all, or at least about 90% reduced. I'm also curious as to whether adding the equaliser into my setup will do anything? will it reduce or increase the quality if its just plugged in and no setttings are changed?- VinylStar

Got this bad boy of out my dad's garage. It's about 20 years old, probably cost about 1500 dollars in today's money. Heres a pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/canadagaragesale/5671650738/ I recently bought a pair of HD 650's and am enjoying them immensely. I'm just curious if it...- VinylStar
