Bilavideo Cups Pending List
Still no response to multiple pms I sent him in the span of the last two weeks demanding action within a week, what has already passed, before which I would request a refund and then leave negative feedback a few days after. Other forum members have received private messages from him during this...- BossBorot

Still no package or update on the tracking number he gave me ages ago, or any of the other tracking numbers I found earlier for that matter, and he specifically said he was reusing them for shipping before going off to some wedding almost half a week ago. I demanded a refund if he didn't take...- BossBorot

no updates on any of the tracking numbers that he sent out on June 13th which he said he was reusing in a pm. He specifically said my cups where done and shipping out using the old tracking number, which is the first time he actually said they where shipping even though he more then hinted at...- BossBorot

Bilavideo Cups Pending List
I received a subscription notification of bilavideo posting which brought me here. Even though he is back I'll post what I spent and for what $80 for dynamat, aluminum gimbals, and cocobolo shells for partially liberated drivers that would require desoldering. Sent him money around the...- BossBorot

Quote: I agree. I should have phrased my statement better. I think that depending upon how much you can justify spending I believe that the MS1 or the 225i are the best buys for complete modding compared with other Grados such as the igrado, sr60, sr80, sr125, and sr325. They both...- BossBorot

also the drivers on the 225 are binned to 0.05dB where as the drivers on the 125 are 0.1dB If you are only going for drivers and something to mount them to the alessandro ms1 and the 225i represent the best cost to driver quality in my opinion depending on what you want.- BossBorot

Because I now doubt that I will ever get my cups I decided to put on the custom cable I made. Hopefully I will work with a mechanical engineer friend of mine to produce my own shells soon.- BossBorot

It is perplexing to me as well. What it does show, save for some massive shipping error which even if that was the case he hasn't voiced any concern over on his end, to me is some level of willful deception or at the very least negligence. Maybe it means that he intends to ship these soon and is...- BossBorot

I did some digging on the tracking number I got from Bila and another from another member on the forums. Thankfully he didn't send us the same one but they where very similar so I took some time to search further. Part of the tracking number of each is missing so that if you don't have one you...- BossBorot

Quote: Sent you a PM. USPS is known for having horrible tracking with no updates until after you get it so no updates on the USPS end is not surprising at all. However I have never had priority mail, which is usually three day shipping, show up as late as the package currently is.- BossBorot

Fairly similar situation on my end with bilavideo but over a much shorter time frame then most, only around a month for me. In his defense we have had some long talks over pms; he is clearly a nice guy and I very much doubt that anyone who is looking to scam would take the time to type out such...- BossBorot

Both of them will work well if you are starting from scratch however he already has the connection resoldered to his new cable so for that application I think a wick would be better plus he wouldn't have to wait for his friend to lend him a pump. However if he doesn't have access to a good...- BossBorot

If you are looking to remove some solder but not resolder the connection a wick would be a better option. A solder sucker is less delicate for removing some solder as it is designed for removing solder form through hole components not removing just a bit of solder from wire attach points. Also...- BossBorot

I used a knife similar to the one you posted. The screwdriver I used was a craftsman 1/8x4 model number 41523. I guess that means the head is 1/8 of an inch and the total length of the screwdriver is 4 inches. The thickness of the point is slightly smaller then the diameter of pencil lead...- BossBorot

I used a knife for one driver and a screwdriver for the other. The knife was more unwieldy and knicked the plastic more compared to the screwdriver extracted driver. Also the screwdriver extraction was quicker and a lot easier. I used a small metal pipe to hammer precisely and more delicately...- BossBorot

If I recall correctly the 325i has the same plastic driver enclosure as the 225i but has aluminum shells instead of plastic shells. Also from pics earlier in the thread it looks like the 225 and 325 driver enclosures are both a bit taller then driver enclosures on lower end Grados.- BossBorot

If he is still using the same mesh as he stated sometime earlier in the thread its a .028 aluminum mesh. A google search for .028 aluminum mesh brought up an amazon link. This mesh is likely quite common at hardware stores as well.- BossBorot

partially liberating the drivers was the easiest step in my opinion, even easier then initially seperating the two shells from my experiences. All that you have to do is get a screwdriver and hammer it lightly between the gaps and it pops out. There is almost no way of damaging the drivers with...- BossBorot
