I've found that the only way to get a response from him is by sending him an e-mail EVERY day, and asking "have you gotten my last emails saying this " --- "" After about 3 or 4 days he will usually get back to you.   -Bryan

+1 to above, as long as you are using headphones that are suitable, you should be set. that being said, there is nothing wrong with picking up a decent amp, and fiddling around with some settings and different headphones to get the sound you want; thats the head-fi way, after all :p :p

I like it when headphones are referred to reference headphones, because it generally implies that they would be good in critical listening studio applications, as reference. However, this term is over used on many different cans.

I use a mix of FLAC, WMA, and MP3, and regardless of the format sometimes have to wrestle with the J3 and album art. Sometimes its almost like it doesn't "feel" like showing it! You can use MP3Tag (a free program) or MediaMonkey to physically embed the album art into the ID3 tag of the song...

I used to have a 6 piece vision series set, with a great set of sabian AA cymbals, plus a Zildjian A custom fast crash, and a zildjian china. I moved overseas, and now am looking into getting an electric set. I really miss my acoustics though, oh so much.

After reading a bunch of threads on different DAC's and AMP's, I have started to lean towards running 600 ohm Beyer DT880's with a DACMagic and a Schiit Valhalla. Anyone try this combo, or have any input on whether it will compliment the Beyers?   I don't want to "colour" the sound too much...

Also, the SE535's sounded fantastic when amped with the Fiio E11 I had at the time, although the bass boost can introduce a slight hiss due to how sensitive the IEMs are.

I have used SE535's before, I liked them alot, amazing IEM's, great isolation. I ended up returning them due to a manufacturing fault, and thus am stuck with a brand new pair I don't really want! I will be posting them on the for sale forum shortly if you are interested.   Other than that...

I have used the M11+, and they are really bassy. Way to much for me, but I am more of a neutral kinda guy. Regardless, if you want a ton of bass, the M11+ is a good option, for a really good price.

Thanks for your responses!   I have decided to order the Shure SE535 first, just because they will be easier to replace if I dont like them. The customs would be really tough to get rid of because, well, they are custom.   I will let you guys know what I think of the shures!
