What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)
Sorry, I guess I'm still too new to have understood that. I went back to the Schiit page and pulled the specs on the Mani's power supply and only saw: Power Supply: “wall wart” style 16VAC transformer, regulated +/- 5V rails I did not realize that was the same as a linear supply. ...- Mottom

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)
Baldr, Perhaps you could offer incremental upgrades to the Mani. There was a member on here that custom ordered a linear power supply and raved about the improvement. Why not do that? I'd pay you another $100-150 for a Sol (suggested name) linear supply to mate to my Mani. What say you?- Mottom

Audio technica m50x vs ath ws99
Those look like nice replacement pads. The originals fit well enough, unless you have massive ears. My ears are normal sized and the WS-99's pads sit over them without any squishing.- Mottom

Audio technica m50x vs ath ws99
I have been using both can quite a bit over the last two weeks. I still think the 99's edge out the m50x. Just looked on Amazon and saw them for $115 plus free shipping....- Mottom

NEW: Audio-Technica ATH-WS55X and ATH-WS33X SOLID BASS headphones
I have a set of the WS99's, my wife has the M50X's and I just purchased a set of the WS55x's for my father. Since the phones were shipped from Japan, I tried them out to make sure they worked before I mailed them on to Dad. Without burn-in, my initial feelings were that they had less low end...- Mottom

Review by 'Mottom' on item 'Audio-Technica ATH-WS99 | SOLID BASS Portable Headphones (Japan Import)'
These phones have largely been ignored because AT did a lousy job of advertising and promoting them. I took a flyer on them hoping that they'd be a great portable for commmuting and use at work. After more than a year with them, I'd gladly make the purchase again. I have heard others talk...- Mottom

Audio technica m50x vs ath ws99
My family owns both. I use the WS-99's as my commute headphones and bought the M50x's for my wife to use with her portable players. The M50x has great sound and is slightly more comfortable than the 99's; however, the sound profile on the 99's is far better than the 50x's. I have had the 99's...- Mottom

Which amp for HD650
I really enjoy my Schiit Asguard ($249) with my 650's. I have also listened to a friend's Bottlehead Crack (with the speedball option - total $299) and love the tube sound there too. Can't go wrong with either. Good luck...- Mottom

DAC to pair with Schiit Asgard? (Time to split them up)
Wow, we think alike. I have an Asguard and am waiting for the Schiit DAC to come out; chose to get a Matrix Cube in the interim. I've been very happy with it. Once I buy a Schiit DAC, I'll take the Matrix Cube to work and leave it there as my work-place amp.- Mottom
