Anyone know whether the TH-900 mkII can fit people with rather large heads? For reference, both the Sony WH-1000XM3 and the AudioTechnica ATH-M20X fit nicely at ful extension without any bending of the headband.

Yeah, that photo definitely shows off the P2's porkier side. In fact...it seems to be, um...how shall i say, having its way with the diminutive A8 .   Anyway, I've checked its dimensions, and it will fit nicely under my 27" iMac.

I only have two sources -- SACD and DAC -- so a typical preamp would be overkill. Besides, I'd prefer something that takes up less real estate on my desk than a typical stereo component. With the Phonitor 2, I could just toggle the output switch and not even need to remove the headphones from...

Glad to hear that. I'm looking for a headphone amp that can also double as a preamplifier for my home office. This just may be the ticket.

Does anybody know if any special consideration is required for impedance matching when connecting the P2 directly to a power amp?

Greetings fellow head-fiers,   For my home office, I'm looking for a preamplifer that is capable of switching between headphone and analogue outputs (RCA or XLR), and that has at least two analogue inputs and can select between them. I don't need an onboard DAC, but don't mind having one.  So...

The binocular case looks great.   If I start to worry about them getting knocked about, I can always take a foam insert from my camera bag that would fit my briefcase. 

Although the Ed8s don't have a proper travel case, I suppose the soft carry bag they come with will provide enough protection when stored in my briefcase. In any event, I don't feel like splurging on the limited edition just to get the hard case. Agreed it would be nice if they folded flat...
