Earsonics SM3 v1 Stolen, Seeking Replacement/Upgrade!
Quote: I did consider it, however I've had really bad experiences with Earsonics when dealing with simple queries. It also seems to be more difficult to drive (requiring an amp to fully deliver), so for that reason it seems quite inflexible for me as I'll be using the earphones on a...- quesce

Earsonics SM3 v1 Stolen, Seeking Replacement/Upgrade!
After 2.5 years of solid service and beautiful performance, my Earsonics SM3s now need replacing as they've been stolen. The reason I'm not considering anything from the Earsonics range anymore, is due to their extremely poor customer service. I am looking for something with an equal...- quesce

Earsonics sm3 V2
Following my first two posts on this thread, it seems that Franck was flooded with similar requests and thus has now changed his policy regarding this. Either that, or there has been a miscommunication from him in his original emails. This is the exact correspondence I had with him, aka the...- quesce

Earsonics sm3 V2
Another email update from Franck. According to him, the two versions have the "same sound." Also, for those interested in taking the 'upgrade to V2' route, in addition to the (1) cost of upgrade and (2) cost of new cable, don't forget to factor in (3) to-and-from shipping costs as well as...- quesce

Earsonics sm3 V2
According to Franck, if SM3 V1s were purchased before February 1st, the cost to 'upgrade to V2' is 30€. If after, then upgrade is free. Also, separate from the cost to upgrade, you would need to shell out an additional 37€ for the new cable. Goes without saying that you would also need to...- quesce

Like the Playaz N3? Xears have the brand new nature N3i!
According to Thomas, they supposedly sound better than the TD-IIIs. However, we will just have to wait for someone to give them a listen Quote:- quesce

Xears Thread (formerly TD III)
Quick update - I've just spoken with Thomas over the live chat. Apparently he had mail server problems and so many emails were lost. Moreover, he acknowledges that the recent batch of Xears TD-IIIs have been having left-driver issues. Currently he has agreed to send me a replacement pair and so...- quesce

Xears Thread (formerly TD III)
The set I received has almost exactly the same issue. Likewise, it has been over a week and still no response from their support team. There are definitely QC issues, unfortunately. Now I just wish they would follow up with decent customer service. Do keep us posted as to whether you get a...- quesce

This and one more thing: no lag in the interface/response time. Lags really put me off and scream "low quality", even if it is actually a pretty decent source. Quote:- quesce

Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread
Hm. I was considering possibly reshelling and adding drivers to my SM3s but based on the impressions here it doesn't sound at all promising. It seems it may be a better option to simply go for the JH16/13s or UMs and keep the SM3s as they are rather than to upgrade them. Quote:- quesce

Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread
Interesting! Sound signature wise has it changed much? Or is it the same just with added clarity? Also, what does it cost to upgrade to an SM3x6? Quote:- quesce

Earsonics SM3 Appreciation Thread - Third Time is a Charm?
Went with the Shure Olives PA910S I'm considering getting Sensorcom's double flanges for my SM3s. However, I have rather small ear canals. I was wondering if someone could give me an indication of their size? Unfortunately, there's not much point in my purchasing them if they won't fit...- quesce

Is It True
I believe this varies according to the individual - I don't think it necessarily indicates that the first sound signature will likely become the person's favorite. Instead, I would be more inclined to agree with the idea that the first pair will always be used as a benchmark/reference for...- quesce

Highest frequency you can hear?
I think it'd be interesting to map these results to age as well. It would be neat to see if it reflects in any way the age demographics of people frequenting head-fi (or whether the results seem to suggest, in the alternative, that people frequenting head-fi are able to hear higher frequencies...- quesce

Review: Unique Melody Miracle 6 driver custom IEM
Thank you for the clarification. If it does indeed include this full service of impressions, cost of shipping, as well as professional handling of the entire affair, then perhaps the pricing is a lot more sensible and reasonable. That said, I do believe AmpCity's scale is still on the high...- quesce

Review: Unique Melody Miracle 6 driver custom IEM
Quote: Could someone clarify on the point of pricing? On the UK website the UM Melody goes for £775 (~$1,260USD), which is quite a hefty price tag - certainly more expensive than the JH16s or the JH13s. Have I misread something? From the posts on this thread I was under the...- quesce

I think the only concern for me is getting accurate moulds. I shudder at any possible notion of having to not only send them back in, but also having to get new moulds. I'll double-confirm the point on acrylic/silicone. At this point both Boots and ACS are looking to be quite attractive...- quesce
