Looking for a low-budget pair of comfy, light headphones?
I'm going off to college this year and I'm looking for a fairly inexpensive ($50 or so) pair of headphones to use in my dorm. I have a pair of ATH-M50s, but they get somewhat annoying after wearing them for a while. I want to get a pair that I can wear very comfortably for long-ish periods of...- VTAb182

Is it bad to store headphone on a table? (yes, new owner here)
I just got my first pair of "real" headphones (M50's) and I'm already paranoid about storing them. Is it bad to just lay them on my desk when I'm not wearing them (I'm wondering if it will do anything to the pads, mainly)? I have a desk lamp that I can hang them on. Them lamp itself doesn't get...- VTAb182

The Audio Technica M50 studio monitor thread
My M50's came in the mail today and so far I'm liking them! It's my first "real" pair of headphones so I don't have anything to compare them to, but their definitely comfortable and they sound nice. I have a question though: is it bad to lay them down on a table or anything for a while, like...- VTAb182

Earbuds in MX580/Pk3 range, but w/ no volume control and a Y-cord?
Quote: That's good to know, thanks! I'll definitely keep those in mind, but I'll wait to hear about some other options to make a purchase. I'm no audiophile so I'm not jumping at spending $40 for earbuds that I won't use too often (I sound cheap, but still )- VTAb182

Earbuds in MX580/Pk3 range, but w/ no volume control and a Y-cord?
The cord isn't mentioned on head-direct or amazon, but in a couple threads about them on here the posters mention the j-cord. So that is what i'm going off of- VTAb182

Earbuds in MX580/Pk3 range, but w/ no volume control and a Y-cord?
I'm looking for a pair of earbuds (non-isolation) that are in the same range as the Senn MX580's or the Yuin Pk3's, but that don't have an in-line volume control nor a J-cord: just a basic, symmetrical Y-cord. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!- VTAb182

<$40 apple buds-styled (non-rubber tip) ear buds?
I'm looking for a pair of earbuds for around $40 or less that are the style of apple's stock ear buds, not the kind that make a seal with a rubber tip in your ear that isolate outside sound (i'm not sure the technical name on either of these). I've heard good things about the Yuin Pk3's, and...- VTAb182

How do you burn in headphones?
I ordered my first pair of 'real' headphones (M50s) and I've heard they are better after they burn in, but I don't know how to do this. Do I play actually songs or just white noise? How loud? For how long? Thanks for the help!- VTAb182

Anything to consider before I buy some M50's?
I'm going to be getting my first real pair of headphones soon and have pretty much decided on the ATH M50's. They're in my price range, I've heard good things both sound and comfort wise, and I like the looks of them. They other big option for me was the Shure 440's or 840's, but the M50's came...- VTAb182

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Hello all! I've never been in the headphone world before so I'm more or less at a loss when I'm searching. I'm looking to get a pair of headphones for around $125. I could go somewhat higher, though, if the headphones are really worth the price. The main thing I'm looking for is comfort. I want...- VTAb182

<$70 closed headphones?
Quote: I'd be playing them just through an ipod for the foreseeable future (I'm not really looking to dive into the headphone world too much). The majority of what I'd be listening to is rock and punk. I'm liking what I've read about the HTX7's and the style is cool, too. But I...- VTAb182

Do you think it would be worth it to get the RX900s instead of the 700s- VTAb182

<$70 closed headphones?
Hello all! I'm new to the headphone world (only have owned cheap earbuds before :/). I want to get a pair of headphones for less than $70 tops. I was going to get skullcandys, but after doing some research, I've learned that that would have been a bad choice. I'd be using them mainly for car...- VTAb182
