Thanks for sharing that remedy. I use an extension cable (CableJive) between the i20 and two phones. The 3GS almost always suffers from the "charging not supported" message yet my 4S rarely does. How easy is it to remove the rubber base?

I use this cable http://www.cablejive.com/products/dockXtender.html between my iPhone and i-20.   It passes audio and will charge. Originally thought I'd want the shorter cable but decided the 6' would be better. I'm glad I went long.
