Media player quandary, so to speak.
One man's EQ is not another's. As for sharing good ones....does anyone else have the same ears, headphones/speakers, room size & layout as you? If you need to EQ so massively to be satisfied, do you know what EQ does to phase? I don't want to discourage because the questions you ask show...- stiben

Review: Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000
Great work on the review Asr! Totally agree about their synergy with solid-state amps. Recently bought AD2000 and Millet Hybrid from different forum members. HF-1 is now permanently attached to the Millet and AD2000 pairs fantastically with a SR-71. Both combos are more satisfying in...- stiben

KSC-55 users: are they vice grips?
I've heard you can use a hairdryer to slightly soften then reshape the plastic headband near the driver, so the curve there is flatter against your head where it clamps. Mine are a few years old and are just the right tension now- stiben

Which of the more "audio oriented" soundcards has the best drivers/game compatibility
I'm currently using a RME HDSP 9632 with the beta 13a WDM driver. Music to ASIO output from Foobar. No issues at all with games to date. Heard it doesn't work in Battlefield 2 (may have been using pre-WDM driver?). Sound quality is superb, far better than the 1212m for my system. Headphone...- stiben

1212M is good but sounds 'dead'
Jbucla2005, I recently changed soundcards from a 1212m but found exactly what I was looking for. My system has musicality and PRaT back but most importantly I enjoy it a lot more http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showp...7&postcount=11- stiben

Sound Card that passes DD and DTS?
I was thinking about starting a new thread but in brief, the 9632 is significantly better than the 1212m in my system. One of my housemates was in my room last weekend during a party, all sorts of music cranking and he asked if I'd changed anything! I used the 1212m for 2 years and it offers...- stiben
