Weird. I've had an AD700 for about two years and it's turned out to be surprisingly durable. I've dropped it at least a few times but it's still intact.

Haha. It might be the lack of frontal or facial shots. The quality is low because I don't have an actual scanner. I once saw a guy there walking around with HD600s.   Edit: And here was an XB-500.

Could it be due to the closed nature of the headphones? The other two sets you listed seem to be open.

Foobar EQ shouldn't ruin the sound as long as you autolevel it. A parametric equalizer would probably work better though. This is what I use with foobar with AD700. ElectriQ with George Yohng VST wrapper.

The AD700 barely isolate at all. There's only a mesh and light foam between the driver and the world. Also they're a bit large and tend to slip down if you are laying down.   Active noise cancelling would probably be good at removing snores. I don't recommend the MDR-NC60 though. I haven't...
