Durable iems for a metal head

Budget is MAX 200$, no more or it'll kill me being a student.   I need something as durable as possible, not something that'll short if I wear them when it's raining.   The bands I mainly listen to is the black tide, night wish, hammerfall, powerglove, sonata arctica, sienna skies...

200$ budget for portable audio rig

Quote: well you see, these are kind of going to be a birthday gift for me. This is why I'd prefer to get them right the first time. I'm leaning over to the ue 700s since people have been complaining about the RE0s durability (one side dies or something)       from grado, I like ...

im  not to sure about the TF10s.  I mean, there's a lot of complaints about them shorting when a drop of water hits them, and things like this scare me because I live in florida when it rains excessively in the summer

alright. What about the complaints on the fit / cord? For ~180$ earbuds are these things top notch in quality? And what about the monster turbines?

well, what IEMs would you recommend besides the RE0?    If It matters, the music that I'll be using will be from the artist's retail CDs, so it'll be the highest  quality possible I guess

200$ budget for portable audio rig

like I said, if a portable amp is worth it / more important than an mp3 player, then I an get  a sansa clip + 100$ dedicated amp + RE0

200$ budget for portable audio rig

that still leaves me w/ 60$ left with my budget. Is a portable amp worth it? I can spend more $$$ for one if it's worth it. I'd like to get as much life as this thing will provide being the price I'm paying for this set up. So if it'll last 2-3 years taken care pretty well, then I'll be happy

200$ budget for portable audio rig

Title pretty much says it all. I listen to all sorts of metal, and that's pretty much it.   This'll be my first true "audiophile" setup, apart from my hd555s and ad700s at my house.   I need earbuds since they are a lot lighter and just look nicer in public.   I've been considering a...
