What the heck is a micro detail? Sorry, that term is not listed in the glossary on the site FAQ? Could you explain what you mean more descriptively?- QuantumPion

I agree with your characterization of the difference between them, my point was just that the difference isn't enormous - they are in similar ballpark of sound signature.- QuantumPion

Oh I wasn't complaining. I really do like the XB90's, their bass is punchy and clean. Just not blow-your-socks-off in-ear-subwoofer levels. :)- QuantumPion

I use them mainly at work on my iphone so amping/eq is not an option at the moment, unless I get a cheap one like the Fiio E6 or something. I tested them at home on my PC (which has a soundcard) and did not notice any significant difference in power or output compared to my phone, which I...- QuantumPion

I recently bought a pair of Sony MDR-XB90's to replace my falling apart Mee M6's. So far I am happy with them but their bass is not as overpowering as I was hoping they would be. I would characterize them as being quite similar to the M6's, but with moderately better deep-bass and somewhat...- QuantumPion

Oh as for the cable issues - I bought the fairly expensive ($20) braided 3m cable since I needed a longer one to reach around my PC. Neither myself nor my wife are able to discern any difference in sound quality between it and the stock cable. While the stock cable is a bit short, I don't think...- QuantumPion

Since re-buying the H6's after initially not liking them, they are starting to grow on me. I wish the earcups were deeper as they get uncomfortable after an hour, but I'm starting to get used to their sound signature more. They really do have great deep bass, and the treble is not too fatiguing...- QuantumPion

The deal is still available, you have to select B&O Play as the seller instead of Amazon. I just ordered a 2nd pair, figured I could sell one to pay for the first one hehe.- QuantumPion

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 Discussion Thread
HI, I forgot about this thread. I did buy the 2nd gen H6 but ended up returning them. I agree, they had surprisingly very powerful deep bass, more so than any other headphone I have used, and with no muddy overpowered upper bass. However, they have very recessed midrange which I'm not a fan...- QuantumPion

I too was trying to decide between the MH40, PM3, or the new 2nd gen H6. I am a basshead (current headphones are Denon AHD-1100) so I wasn't originally considering the H6 that much until marco.org's glowing review and amazon.com reviews saying their bass was improved. I bit the bullet and...- QuantumPion

Help pick from $400 range headphones
Thanks for the suggestions. The Hifiman-HE400 would be my number one choice if open headphones were an option, but I really need the isolation and privacy of closed phones, at least for my primary set now. If I get open phones, they would be a second set I get later.- QuantumPion

Help pick from $400 range headphones
I'm looking to upgrade to some nicer headphones and an entry level amp. Currently I have the Denon AHD-1100. I like these a lot because they have strong base and the treble is not harsh. They are also very lightweight and comfortable. The main down side to them is they are a little bit muddy on...- QuantumPion
