Audio Technica A900s or Sennheiser HD25s for metal?

I have the A900s, and seriously, these aren't made for Metal music (in my opinion). They don't suck at it, but to my ears they don't do Metal well; at least, not the way an average metalhead likes it. The sonic signature of the A900s is such that it has relatively lesser mids than the average...

    Need a Favour From U.S. HeadFi-ers

I found a good deal for the M-Audio Firewire Audiophile: http://www.scitscat.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id/358 The problem is... I live in Singapore, and when I enquired about shipping costs, the fella quoted me US$42! I don't think it really costs that much, since I have just had my...

    Portaphile V2 Owners Thread

Hi guys, I just received my Portaphile V2 today. It was shipped in excessive amount of bubble-wraps, and the physical condition of the amp was perfect. It took a total of a week to reach me (I live in Singapore, Asia). After I first got it, I hooked it to my PC and listened it through my...

    Head Phones for PC

If you intend to check out canalphones in your budget, you can consider the Panasonics HJE50 and the Sharps MD33. I wouldn't say they are good phones for gaming, but music quality with these are superb considering the little price you'll be paying for them. And like it's been mentioned...

FINAL BATTLE- MD33 Vs. EX71 Vs. HJE50 (PLEASE HELP)

From my personal experience, I think that the best-sounding pair of earbuds out of the 3 is the Sharp MD33. Good detail, clear and tight bass, and very powerful mids. Nothing is sonically wrong with these earbuds. There is clearly a boost somewhere in the lower midrange, but it is not bad...

Damn. .wav sounds better than Apple Lossless!

Guys, let's cool it. We don't want the forum to be a hostile arena. Jon L, I believe there is no difference in the 2 output formats. As Woem correctly pointed out, there is no quality lost in the when you encode files in lossless formats, thus the name Lossless. Take a good listen again...

Band Recording with USB sound card

I am now considering the Creative Audigy2 NX (USB), due to budget constraints. Have heard bad things about the Audigy products, but is it really that bad? It supports 24bit/96kHz playback/recording, so resolution should not be that bad, isn't it? Heard that these cards do resampling (no...

Band Recording with USB sound card

From the description of the site, the soundcard supports a line in, instrument in, and a mic in. There is a switch to instrument/line in. Both have different gains and some technical specifications I don't really fully understand. Is it gonna be bad for the recordings?

Band Recording with USB sound card

Since I am only gonna need one line input, and maybe 2 in rare cases, I think I might just go ahead with the M-audio Fast Track USB: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...SB-main-1.html Anyone has any idea how good this thing might be?

    Are canalphones for me?

Microphonics are a problem, but it can be greatly reduced by hiding the wires under your shirt. Regarding the foot-thumpings, it really depends on the way you walk I walk around with my Sharp MD33s quite a lot. I used to find the thumps quite irritating, until my feet adjusted and I start...

    Deciding on a $200 headphone

Regarding the A900s and the recessed mids thing: If you are a Rock-Metal music fan, and enjoy the raw sounds of thrashing guitars, you might not want these. I think the main strengths of the A900s are the treble sounds (cymbals, high pitched synths, many new age pianos). The mids are not...
