If your head is not too big, I thought the Logitech G35 sounded awesome for just under $100. Great isolation too. Almost too good.

I have the DT990's and do not find the highs too harsh. Tube amp helps there for sure. However, I find the DT990's sound best with complex detailed music and are not a great impact headphone. For the type of music you mentioned I would consider something else.

Don't think you can do that once the auction is done.

Ebay/PayPal same company insure everything under $2000 100% and they will go to bat for you if something goes wrong. But the real red flag here was 0 feedback in Estonia. That's just lol if i'd come accross that listing. PayPal will hunt you down if they're involved. But people can't / won't pay...

Paypay will protect you if you pay but it can take a long time. I sell and buy alot of stuff on ebay and have had a few problems. My advise is don't pay.   Never, ever bid on something or sell something to someone with no feedback. No exceptions to the rule.

I own the a DT990's and the mids are recessed. They are still great headphones but I agree rock is not the best on them. If it were me, I would streatch for the D5000 for $50 over your budget. I have listened to them side by side with the Grado 225 and the Senn 650's and they sounded much better...

Also keep in mind that upgrading your headphones is going to be the easiest way to get a sonic improvement at this price point.
