New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

I liked the play so much I bought a bang and a fun at the discount price, both with the v5 upgrades. The missus will hate me but the Castle Stirling speakers will love them. My local power company and their dirty mains left three of my Musical Fidelity amps dead with shorted toroidal...

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

Hey, no worries, I'm glad you directed me there, the driver issue was kind of fun/enlightening to sort out and the volume control is just a fact of life - the old bath curve working itself out. They provide good support, are local to me (just over the Tassie) and have a 5 year warranty. So...

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

Burson customer service came up with the goods. They are going to ship a control board to me and it'sa user replaceable part. I've located some remote control codes to use with an old universal remote. The dac is now integrated into my hi-fi system with an old laptop and it rocks. Plus I've...

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

I suspect it's a hardware issue (the old bath tub curve for failure), there is no change when powered down/off. It worked probably 20 or 30 times the first couple of days and now does not respond at all. Might have to send it back, but it sounds so good.......

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

Only problem now is, the volume <mute> function no longer works on the amp. When I pressed the volume button it was muting the sound and making the display flash. This is no longer the case. Think we may have a fault there...... I've put this issue down on the warranty registration form. Let's...

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

Baby steps - installing the Foobar ASIO support lets me use Foobar now. Just got to work on the XMOS side to get WASAPI. OK I installed the ASIO component/plugin for Foobar and now Foobar works with ASIO on the Win10 machine. But I still can't get it or WASAPI to work on WIn7. Installing the...

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I did use the Burson drivers from their webpage and I did use the win7 drivers for the three win 7 machines (2 laptops and a desktop) that I tried, unsucessfully to get the DAC to work on, and I did use the win 10 drivers to get very partial success on the...

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

Sorry to necro here, but I've just got a Play from Burson and their USB Audio 2.0 driver fails to install, either automatically or from the Burson download (XMOS-Stereo-USB-Audio-Class2-Driver-3033(v2.26.0)). I'm running W7, SP1 on a Precision M4600 with 8Gb ram. I've also tried on another W7...

Wow! Sennheiser HD 540 Reference are so good.

The box in the photo I posted has a label saying HD-540-II and serial number (??), 22106673. Labelled elsewhere as Reference II and Made In Ireland. The main box is marked "OFC 99,99% cable". There is a sticky (German language) label on it indicating reviews from Stereoplay and Hifi Vision...

Wow! Sennheiser HD 540 Reference are so good.

Just got my old HD540 MkII refs out and they are still great plus they are so much more comfortable than the Grado Alessandros I had "replaced" them with. Got some new foam inner pads and a new cable a few years ago so these bits are still ok and the sound is still great with a headphone amp...
