earphones for me generally last me around 2-3 months, then one ear shorts out. ive been wondering if putting heatshrink over the jack (to provide some strain relief) would prolong the life of my earphones? because i cant afford to buy earphones every 2 months. thanks in advance. 

every earphone i have, one side always goes silent after a few months, like two or three. i dont excercise too heavily in them, just lifting, a little cardio, and to shoot hoops alone. any way to fix this "curse"?

im an avid gamer, and my plantronics set just broke down on me after a year of use. i need a comfortable gaming headset with a mic that isnt too expensive, maybe around $30 or under, because i dont need the expensive sets.
