possible solution to shorted earphones?
earphones for me generally last me around 2-3 months, then one ear shorts out. ive been wondering if putting heatshrink over the jack (to provide some strain relief) would prolong the life of my earphones? because i cant afford to buy earphones every 2 months. thanks in advance.- Emerican

earphones keep shorting out
its always in my pocket. thats why i aim for straight plugs, with the L-shaped plugs, the cable is bent when in my pocket, which i thinks gives it more stress. im also aiming for those cables with that clear heatshrink, like the ones meelec has.- Emerican

earphones keep shorting out
every earphone i have, one side always goes silent after a few months, like two or three. i dont excercise too heavily in them, just lifting, a little cardio, and to shoot hoops alone. any way to fix this "curse"?- Emerican

Spider Gives Away 20pcs "TinyEar" Micro Driver IEM
looks like i finally found my earphone of choice. The silicon tips that come with IEMs are too big, even the small ones are big, i cant get a good seal and it feels like they're going to fall off. i havent found a snug fit on any IEM. i listen to music while reading and playing games on my...- Emerican

best IEM for snowboarding
well, i only wore a beanie while boarding, but a week ago when i had nasty fall on a jump, most likely i will be wearing a helmet from now on. The Elago E3, Q:Electronics, and the Earjax Tonics really stand out to me because they all have been reviewed as a very cheap IEM with tons of bass. im...- Emerican

best IEM for snowboarding
ive done a litle bit more research on the multi IEM comparision thing on head-fi, and im also eying the elago e3. most reviews say they have a boomy, rich basss, with ok vocals, and somewhat decent build quality.- Emerican

best IEM for snowboarding
ok so you would say the logics are the boomiest bass-heavy IEMs, right? im thinking about getting those over the tonics and another pair of one of my favorite budget IEMs, the radius atomic bass.- Emerican

best IEM for snowboarding
ok, so ive done a bit of "research" on head-fi, and it seems as if the two best options that fit my needs are the earjax tonic or the dB logic ep-100. i dont know which one, though... BTW, sorry if im being a bit buggy by posting all these threads, im just a newcomer to...- Emerican

best IEM for snowboarding
i need a cheap, decent quality IEM for snowboarding, preferrably $35 or under. im by no means an audiophile, just looking for these things: comfortability, i wont have pain in my ears after a few hours a decent build quality, not some crappy wires and speakers that blow in a month a boomy...- Emerican

Sony Piiq?
oh sorry, and yeah, i guess $200 is too much to pump out for a pair of decent headphones. The Giiq has better reviews than the more expensive Marqii, but the reviews also say the marqii has better bass and sound...- Emerican

Sony Piiq?
im leaning towards the marqii, ill ask em for my birthday, ive heard the sound quality is superior to the giiq. i guess this will be my first baby step to those beats by dre studio ive been craving for since i was born.- Emerican

JVC Marshmallows
oh, i never said the jvcs were audiophile quality... i have roughly $250 right now, but im really not gonna drop heavy cash like the beats by dre or shures have on their price tags, just something that'll give me some comfortability and some good bass until i can have the sony piiq marqii for...- Emerican

JVC Marshmallows
yea, but seeing how suckish my rocketfish rf knj2 or somethin was, im pretty sure the marshmallows at the same price will be better. also, the radius atomic bass 2 is a really good bang for your buck, not really for audiophiles, but for big bass cravers.- Emerican

JVC Marshmallows
im skeptical about buying these, how are they for the $10 price tag at my store? im looking for a bit more bass than most headphones, and i wanna see how they compare to my last set of 'phones, the radius atomic bass 2 EDIT: woops, my bad, wrong section- Emerican

Sony Piiq?
these look a lot like skullcandy, and im having nagging doubts in my head, but then again, its from sony. im looking at the Giiq ($50) and the Marqii ($99). i need to know if its worth paying double for the Marqii, although ive heard the sound from the Giiq isnt all that impressive. im going to...- Emerican

skullcandy fmj vs radius atomic bass2 w/ mic
yeah, i guess ill go with the atomic bass. the reason i included skullcandy is because it looks like it has a metal laminate over the wire, and the FMJ come with comply foam tips. i really dont want to fork over $15 for 3 pairs of foam tips, either. one last question: should i just go...- Emerican
