The trouble is not the highs, but the upper mids, where is a percussion, maybe cymbals and hi-hats are. For me in Sabres they are too much. They create like the wall of bdzzz and hshhh and do not let me hear all other sound propperly. 

Sorry dut I can't get what is tip rolling? You mean just to choose other tis? How can this reduce trebles than? I know in theory the tips influence the sound ant I tyed all of the lots that came with Sabres (and Sony hybrids also) and they don't change the picture significantly for me.

maybe the best solution would be to make customs

M2 and M3 have much better cable, stock tips and comfort overall, the sound signature is quite similar with the Bullets' - mids are enough detailed, highs are recessed a little, the sound is good separated and clear, but the Brains have more boomy bass, I can say, they provide "warmer" sound.

try something of entry-lewel dymamic Brainwavz, maybe Brainwavz M2 

if the sound signature is ok for you, and the problem is only in fit, maybe it would be better to make customs and re-cable them? p.s. I'm waiting for this upgrade cable for my UE 5pro, hope it would be more comfortable.

try to spray deo on it. This could help to get rid of the smell and make you feel more accurate, as if you used some more deo-spray as for yourself :) I've done like this the first days of using some new phones (don't remember the model), that had really hiorrible smelling stock cord...

what about UE 5pro? less bass than in EB version, far more comfortable.

I've listened to both RE0 and RE-ZERO, and I can say, that of these two: RE0 sound as much better, as better the souce is. On the simple player, like ipod or sansa clip, ZERO may sound better, but with good source 0s are better
