Recommend me some headphones up to around £700/$850

Just taken delivery of a pair of Signature Pro's. On my test tracks they sound pretty much perfect. Hopefully this is it.

Recommend me some headphones up to around £700/$850

They're not a model I've ever heard of, but after doing more reading, I'm edging towards something different like the HiFiman now.

Recommend me some headphones up to around £700/$850

I've been getting itchy feet and looking at a new set of headphones.   I last purchased a set of AKG K550s and already have a pair of Grado SR60s. The AKG's have been my primary set as I listen to most of my music in bed and the Grado's leak sooo much, which has  seen them sat in a drawer for...

My bedside table. Just dug out some old skool gear. Altogether a Sony Mini Disc MZ-R70, a Sony Network Walkman NW-HD1, Ipod Video Classic with Fiio E11, Colorfly C4 Pro, and AKG K550's.

A new high end player: Colorfly

I've had this just a week now and I'm pretty happy with the purchase. The sound quality is a huge improvement over my ipod. I've paired it with some AKG K550's and the detail is astounding. I've got to say that I've not noticed this combo lacking in bass, but then I'm not one for huge bass...

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)

I've only had these 5 minutes! lol, they're pretty much the same ( but assuming they have a shorter or removable cable? ) but almost £100 more, which doesn't justify the extra cost imo.

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)

If thats aimed at me, then funnily enough I was going to post on here asking what recommendations people have. Its a bloody long chord and is a bit of a pain, but at the moment I'm simply rolling up part of it and pushing it in my pocket.

The latest addition (AKG K550's) a bargain at £140, very detailed and open sounding for a closed pair. Chuffed with them.

    Colorfly C4 manual?

No problem, its early yet, but one thing that struck me was the clear difference when upscaling from 16 to 24bit. I was not expecting to hear a difference, but there is a clear improvement, impressive. I've ripped a lot of vinyl recently too and on the ipod it was not a hugely pleasant...

    Colorfly C4 manual?

Picked mine up this afternoon. Theres not a great deal in the manual, but its pretty easy to get about. Not sure if this will help but here's a few pages from the english manual.

Best way to spend my money?

A bit late now, as I've just ordered the Colorfly C4, so should have that and the K550's tomorrow. I would never have spent the money on the C4 but with the amazon vouchers I had tucked away I couldnt resist. I will look at the Fischers though as I could do with some decent iem's for outdoor...

Best way to spend my money?

Luckily I don't wear glasses. If the AKG's manage to sound as good to me as the Grado's (albeit slightly different due to being closed) then I'll be more than happy. Here's to the start of my step into the realms of headfi. I think it may become an expensive hobby...

Best way to spend my money?

Yes, I'm using mostly flac and vinyl ripped to wav. I've been a bit daft, in that I've been basing my opinion on the Ipods disappointing sound whilst listening through Goldring GX200's. They're ok for £20, but they're struggling with any strong bass and treble, sounding heavily compressed when...

Best way to spend my money?

Yes that's my iPod flatmap, battered and bruised now... Thanks for the advice both. I was under the impression that the LOD was indeed a digital out that bypassed the internal dac, my fault, I just presumed this. This leads me back to a better source. I really like the look of the Colorfly...

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...

Cheers, that's just a record cleaning box I made up from an old turntable. It connects to a vacuum cleaner, there's a pipe on one side plumbed into a jar inside the box which acts as a liquid trap, as I clean the records, the tubing coming out at the top sucks the dirty residue off the vinyl...

My current setup. Meridian M30 active speakers Grado SR60 Pro-ject headbox Thorens TD160 Super with SME 3009 Improved arm and Ortofon 2m Red cart Thorens Restek pre-amp Squeezebox Classic Unnamed DAC (bought it for the chipset) sounds excellent.

Best way to spend my money?

I'll be using this in bed and the wife actually asked if I was getting some quiet ones this time.... Looks like the Grados are out then. So now looking for a closed pairing, together with the best solution for improved sound for my budget. Thanks DH for the e11 recommendation. I'm looking at...

Best way to spend my money?

Bump. Does anyone have some advice? Will an iPod classic and Fiio amp/dac be sufficient for quality sound with a decent set of phones? I've seen a couple of devices that interest me (qls qa350 and ihifi812) for less than £200 with built in amp and dac, so I could pair these with a really good...

Best way to spend my money?

I'm looking to get a decent portable system up and running and have a budget of £600. I've put a fair whack into my vinyl and streaming house system and now want to get some quality for bedside, work and dog walking. I'm really not up to scratch with this side of audio so would appreciate your...
