I did not see any threads on this in my search, unless I missed them.   The twist/lock plug that goes into the cans, I know they are proprietary but are they available somewhere w/out a cable attached? I want to make a new cable with some better wire...any suggestions aside from drilling...

Is it required (even possible?) to change your preferences when using an external DAC? Just want to make sure that the internal DAC is bypassed so the external DAC can do its business, unless it makes no difference....? 2007 Macbook, MSB Link DAC II via optical or 3.5 mini.  

Anyone rewire their UE700's? Search didn't seem to yield any results, perhaps its just too hard to get those little guys apart?
