    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

Sure.. cram the M50s in a messenger bag with my laptop and books. Plus, the long coil cable is really a turn-off for me.  Practical at home, yes, but not really for public use IMO. I've been considering IEMs, but I prefer over-the-ear feel. The S700s are collapsible as well and ~half the weight...

    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

I still need to do a burn-in, but the bass is good; not overpowering. The biggest issue is the questionable quality. Other than that, no issues so far (I've only used it for one day though..). Also, it turns out it's covered by a 1-year warranty. For some reason they didn't list it on the Amazon...

    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

Just got back from using the headphones today. The S700s are not 100% noise canceling, but they do reduce a lot of outside noise (e.g. people talking on the bus, shuffling, etc.). I could still hear the bus engine though, so you may need to turn up the volume a little bit. The seal is similar to...

    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

Just received the JVC HAS700 today. To note, my hat size is 7 3/4, so my head is fairly large. The problem with my ATH-M50s were that they seemed to clamp onto my head, so I would get a headache after about half a hour of usage. The S700s fit extremely comfortably over my ginormous head. Perhaps...

Oops, I could've read that in the description. Haha. And thanks for the info. I read your thread on IEM reviews - very informative.

    DEAL ALERT: Meelec M6 & M6P 61% Off Today

For someone who's never owned a pair of IEMs before, would this be a good start? If so, what's the difference between the M6 and the M6P (besides the price)?   Thanks.

    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

Yeah, me too. I'll probably be ordering it tonight unless I get another opinion.. I just noticed it isn't covered by JVC's warranty though - a bit of a turnoff but it probably won't be as bad as I think (knock-on-wood).

    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

Quote: HD228 is a bit out of my price range. I took a look at the xb300 and it seems that they leak a bit of noise. Thanks for the suggestions though.

    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

Quote: Yeah, I've heard that as well. I couldn't find many reviews of it on Google. I had to scrape what I had from Amazon/Newegg reviews + some posts here on Head-Fi.   Still deciding...

    ATH-M50 Substitute (Portable)

Hey Head-fi forums! Long time lurker, first time poster.   Well, straight to the point here. I switched from cheap-o $10 earbuds to headphones a few months back. I've never gone back. I decided to purchase the ATH-M50 based purely on the multitude of positive reviews it gets on here. I...
