Got bored and a/b'd flacs and mp3s
Of course this was a blind test? And importantly with a recent LAME encoder? If yes to both, then I would recommend you getting in contact with the developers of LAME so they can have you on-board as a tester for future iterations of the LAME codec.- Pistachio

320 kbps vs FLAC?
As said a million times in a million threads. Equipment, once it is just competent is not the limiting factor. The limiting factor is not a persons propensity for "golden ears" syndrome. People who can tell the difference can only ever do so for particular samples or particularly tricky genres...- Pistachio

Lowless? MP3 bit?
Quite frankly, I don't believe regal at all. 320kbps MP3 with any recent LAME encoder vs CD is transparent to all but a few people who have trained themselves in telling the difference, and only then on very specific and challenging tracks and musical pieces, and even then never with 100%...- Pistachio

Professional Opinions: D5000 vs. W5000 - FOR GAMING
Some terrible advice in this thread. Don't get a gaming headset. You wan't soundstage you will need to go for something open, or a very open sounding closed. If you go open you won't get isolation. Without a decent soundcard alot of this is in vain, alot of the directional audio from games...- Pistachio

Looking for Headphone Recommendation!
Well depends on what sound you want really. When you said you listen to downtempo and chillout stuff and not trance and techno I assumed bass impact wasn't important. If you do want bass, then some people think the AD headphones lack in that department. It is there, it is tight and fast but...- Pistachio

Best headphones for Electronic and Classical music?
Electronic spans alot of different sounds. Early 90's acid would do well with a Grado. IDM would do well with a K701. etc etc- Pistachio
