    Laptop sound card with midi

I'm looking for the same thing. I've narrowed it down a bit to m-audio and focusrite. Tascams seem nice but aren't known for great driver support.

    Little DOT MK III Mods??

Hey Sonda, thanks for the pics. It should be a big help and I'm going to get started trying to put my LD back together. I haven't decided on the enclosure yet but I'll probably go with a simple wood box and put the transformer and tubes on top.

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

I like the older receivers. I have a Pioneer SX-750 and just got a Kenwood 5400. Pioneers are very clean sounding. The Kenwood is darker and some say not unlike an old Marantz. I never heard a modern receiver I liked but never really did a side by side comparison with the older 70's models. Old...

    Little DOT MK III Mods??

Quote: I ended up cutting all the wires to the transformer and labeling them but I wouldn't recommend doing it. My LD MK III had a hum and one of the large caps had come loose. I'm going to make a larger cabinet for it. A couple wires to the volume pot came loose so I had to cut that...

    Little Dot Mk III hum

I've tried everything to get rid of the hum in my LD Mk III. The hum is there even if connected to a two prong. Not loud, but it's there. Do any of those small devices work to get rid of hum without losing frequency response? Besides the hum it sounds great. Any suggestions?

    Bad tubes?

I just got a Little Dot MK III and it's about 30 hours into the burn in. I noticed when I got it that the two small driver tubes had a bit of a ringing sound that comes through the headphones when I tapped on them with my fingernail. It's not a sustained ringing. I tried a couple replacements...

    Little Dot Mk111 DOA

David at LD should be able to help. It's a shame it was DOA.

    Little Dot Mk111 DOA

I just got mine today. There are two minor problems-a ground hum which should be easy to fix and some static. I suspect microphonic tubes. Have you checked your fuse?

Soundesign vintage receiver as a headphone amp?

What will you be using as a source? A decent vintage 70's SS receiver will have a very clean sound with headphones. The power amp, radio and various connections can be very useful. Will you be using a CD player, cassette player, radio, laptop? If you're looking for an affordable stereo...

    Hello from Wisconsin

Geetings fellow cheez head. I guess I'm asking if these gizmos can be used as a preamp, in general. I'm thinking about a Little Dot III or Xiang Sheng. Possibly an Indeed V2.

    Hello from Wisconsin

Hi, this is my first post here. Can someone tell me the difference between a headphone amp such as the Little Dot and a regular stereo preamp such as an old Dynaco Pas? Also, if one of these little headphone amps is a hybrid with rca ins and outs does it use the tube section of the unit?
