Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

I would say there is not so much difference between the SPC cable (130) and the pure copper cable (125) in the amount of bass. The Pure copper puts more emphasis on the the bass because of a little less definition in the highs, I think. The SPC cable (130) has on the other hand more texture in...

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

I just did a few listening tests between the two cables. The biggest difference is in the highs. I've listened to some different tracks I use to review my stuff: classic orchestral stuff, piano, rock, heavy metal. The standard SPC cable sounds louder while using the same volume settings on rock...

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

I bought cable 125 (Copper) on my DM6s to tame the grainy highs a bit. This worked quite well until my DM6s calmed down completely and I started to look for more sparkle in the highs. So I ordered cable 130 (SPC). This was a revelation for me, everything sounded so “natural” and spacious. The...

BGVP discussion thread DM7/ DM6/DMG and NEW BA series

I've just listened to "Hello" both on FLAC 16-44 and DSD (vinyl rip) and both are very close. When I switch on upsampling I actually prefer the FLAC, much spacier sound. Adele's voice is quite rough around the edges and that doesn't go away with DSD or FLAC (with or without upsampling). The...

BGVP discussion thread DM7/ DM6/DMG and NEW BA series

For me heavily compressed albums like Adele's 25 were almost unlistenable, but now with the DM6s they sound better than I have ever heard them before. When I first got my DM6's they were very sibilant to such an extent that I actually preferred my Tin Audio T2's over them. I'm willing to admit...

BGVP discussion thread DM7/ DM6/DMG and NEW BA series

I have this cable right now on my DM6s and it easily bests my pure copper cable by a wide margin. When I got my DM6s I had issues with the grainy treble and bought a pure copper cable as advised here. My new cable was suggested by a friend and has a very low resistance. He and I thought it...

BGVP discussion thread DM7/ DM6/DMG and NEW BA series

I received my clear DM6s from A&V Store today! I pre-ordered on 10/20 for the 11/11 sale and was told on 12/26 that they would get more items on the 01/10, but i guess i was "lucky". The cable included looks exactly like this one (angled 3.5 connector)...

RockBox For HiFiman HM601 and for HM801

I had the same problems with interrupted play on hires files, but buying a faster card solved that. Speed class 10 plays very well, but 6 still gives interruptions on certain cards or files.

Review by 'alexh' on item 'HiFiMAN RE272'

I'm relatively new to the IEM scene (I bought RE0's for me and my wife two years ago and have been using them with great pleasure until they were stolen 1 year ago) I liked the sound signature of the RE0, but I have never taken them seriously as a replacement for my other Headphones. I have...

Has anyone noticed hiss on some HDtracks files played on HifiMAN?

I am not up sampling the files. I have installed Rockbox to be able to play my SACD rips which I made on my PS3. These files are 24/88.2 and play fine without any noise. I only have problems with the HDtracks files from DG which happen to be 24/88.2. I have not heard any hiss on other albums...

Has anyone noticed hiss on some HDtracks files played on HifiMAN?

I have the same problem on some of my DG recordings from HDtracks when played through the HM-801. Tori Amos "Night of Hunters", Verdi´s "La Traviata" by Carlos Kleiber and Anna Netrebko's "Opera Arias" all suffer from noise. Those are 24/88.2 recordings and I have not heard it on other 88.2...

RockBox For HiFiman HM601 and for HM801

I can confirm that 24/88.2 works now when playing from an SD card. Via the USB-DAC input this has been working even before. On my slower class 4 card however, playing is interrupted every few seconds. 24/48 files play without interruption even from my slow card.
