Where to go from the DT-770 Pro 80ohm
How about Sony MDR-Z7? Any others that could be considered really good, bass emphasized headphones? THX00 is the only other one that seems like it comes up super often.- Jibbie

Where to go from the DT-770 Pro 80ohm
Interesting, so there isn't an easy "upgrade" from these, huh? I do normally listen to EDM, so that isn't an issue. I just love the bass and soundstage of these. If there isn't something that clearly upgrades both, I guess I'll keep searching then =/ Thanks for the input!- Jibbie

Where to go from the DT-770 Pro 80ohm
Hi all, I've had the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 80ohm headphones for the past couple of years. I really enjoy their comfort, sound signature (I somewhat bass heavy 'phones), and their soundstage. I'm looking to upgrade though! I'm wondering where to go next. Fostex THX00? Ultrasone Pro 900...- Jibbie

Need Dac/amp for Headphone with Speaker RCA out.
Hello all, I am looking to purchase an external soundcard (dac/amp) for a pair of gaming headphones. I also have M-Audio AV40s, that I'd like to hook up to this DAC, and be able to easily switch between using headphones or using speakers. I'm looking at something like the ASUS Xonar U7...- Jibbie

Denon D2000 vs Ultrasone Pro 900: A Review and Comparison
I quite agree that my setup is far from high end, and that a better source and amp would of course, make this comparison a little more comprehensive. Having said that, however, the things that were better on the D2000, namely comfort and soundstage, will always be better than the Pro 900...- Jibbie

Denon D2000 vs Ultrasone Pro 900: A Review and Comparison
I just listened to that song to see if I had distortion on the D5000 and found none, however the bass on that track isn't recorded very well. I think you'll find that, once you have a good pair of revealing, high end headphones, that a lot of hip hop doesn't sound that great because some of it...- Jibbie

Denon d5000
I also got my D5000 for 400 dollars, though it was from Electronics Expo. It should be safe, and for that price the D5000 is an incredible headphone.- Jibbie

Denon D2000 vs Ultrasone Pro 900: A Review and Comparison
This is definitely a question that only you can answer, however, some of us may be able to help illuminate the possible choices for you, so that you can make a better decision. The D2000 and the K701 are very different cans. One has strong bass, recessed mids, and is a closed headphone...- Jibbie

Denon D2000 vs Ultrasone Pro 900: A Review and Comparison
The lettering on the D5000 is painted on, not engraved, but it is underneath the finish of the wood, so it shouldn't wear off- Jibbie

Denon D2000 vs Ultrasone Pro 900: A Review and Comparison
I have the D5000 now, and while I am very happy with it, you should know that it (and its little brother) leak almost as much as an open can. If you're buying a headphone to replace your Panasonic at work because it leaked too much, the Denon line would not fit the bill; they'd leak as much if...- Jibbie

Best headphones for bass under $200 buyers guide UPDATED
I also agree that the M50s have almost zero soundstage. The earbuds I received with the Cowon J3 have as much, at least. It's not a bad headphone, but I do think it gets more praise than it deserves.- Jibbie

Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread
The D5000 and Pro 900 are similar in that they both don't require a super amp to make them sound great. They are different, however, in that I think the D5000 sound worse without an amp versus their sound with one. The Pro 900 can sound great out of an ipod, and an amp just adds that extra...- Jibbie
