Has anyone used the phone out to connect to your amp? I thought I heard little bit of difference comparing to the line out but it's hard to a-b it since volume is bit louder on phone out.

Am I deaf? Why can't I notice significant difference between m-stage(op627+3.9k) and the amp section of tiny audinst mx-1? I do notice slight wider sound stage and slight warmer tone but I really had to listen hard for those. Is this it? This is what great amping is all about? I'm new here so...

If you have hd650 then I wouldn't recommend audinst mx-1. It's a good dac but it does sound little laid back and that's not what you want with hd650. On the other hand, HRT streamer II has slight forwarding sound and wider sound stage which matches perfectly with dark sounding hd650. But I have...

Just read the review from headfornia. He didn't say any negative stuff about it but he didn't mentioned any good stuff either. To me, that meant he didn't like it. I think he was just being now since Beresford sent him a free dac for the review.
