Beyerdynamic T5p vs. Fostex TH-900?
This is very subjective, these are very different sounding headphones, for example some people can't listen to the T1s for extended periods due to treble prominence...but personally I like it...really suggest you try to get a listen yourself...the Beyers have a family sound so I would at least...- krl25sc

Reference headphones with adequate bass response
For me, when I wanted a "bassier" headphone (I have HD800s and various Beyerdynamics) - and didn't want too much bass like what I hear in Audeze for instance (although I know a lot of people really like this) - I went with NAD HP50...very well priced too- krl25sc

From Shure SE425 to what?
I went for the SE846 in a similar position to you a couple of years ago...but really recommend you take a listen for yourself if you are spending a lot more money because these different IEMs do sound very different...good luck!- krl25sc

Questions about DAP sound quality
I use a Macbook Pro Retina direct to drive my NAD HP-50, this sounds better to me than driving them through Chord Mojo or Pioneer U-05 DAC/headamp and Beyerdynamic A20 amp...my Sennheiser HD800 don't sound better direct though, so for me it is headphone dependent...- krl25sc

The Stax SR-L500 and SR-L700 Impressions Thread
I completely agree with this...I have the HD800 (non-s) and 700 and whilst I will always keep my HD800, if I had to have just one it would be the 700 because it has all the detail but more warmth than the HD800. I run the 700 with a 353 amp.- krl25sc
