The discovery thread!
That's aweome! I was going to compare my fx101 with my gf's fr201 whenever she opens them and uses them with her iphone. I'm glad somebody else did it first. hahaha I guess I'll post if I hear any difference.- hhnguyen504

New Headphones (MEEl M6, or...)
I believe the FX1X is an older model and the FX101 somewhat replaces it. From other users comparisons (as I only own the FX101), it seems like the FX1X has more bass impact but less overall clarity than the FX101. So the the FX1X is for the pure basshead and the FX101 is a more balanced...- hhnguyen504

Comply TX-100 came off in my ear! What do I do now?!
Well, that sure is a predicament. Have someone help you grab them out with a pair of tweezers, carefully of course.- hhnguyen504

Brainwavz M2 - The "Fun" IEM
Totally agree with AFRUITPIE. My thoughts are pretty much the same, but I don't listen to a lot of Rock so I can't comment here. These do sound great but for probably a little disappointing for hiphop, dance, and dubstep. (Funny 'cause its the complete opposite from a review on MP4nation.)- hhnguyen504

Quote: LOL!!! It depends on your mood. Black if you feel like grappling up a wall. Blue if you feel like flying and laser-beaming through walls, red for running faster than the speed of your music, green if you feel like smashing something, and purple if you're feeling feisty. Guess the...- hhnguyen504

Earbud wire problem..
Quote: This sounds about right. A lot of earphones use enameled stranded copper in order to have thinner cords for portability. You will have to solder the wires together. I've found that by pre-tinning the ends of the wire also helps melt away the enamel. So, try soldering them...- hhnguyen504

New Headphones (MEEl M6, or...)
The M6's are one of the first iems I've owned. They're pretty durable but I have had to send them in for replacement before under warranty but their customer service is great. As far as the sound quality, it has globs of bass, definitely a basshead phone. However, those oodles of bass tends to...- hhnguyen504

New Headphones (MEEl M6, or...)
I have a pair of clear M6's, to me they sound a bit muddy. I've had a JVC HA-FX101 for a few weeks and I love them. Clean rumbly bass yet sparkly clear highs and natural sounding mids. The form of the M6 is great for working out but the cord is WAY too long. One problem with the FX101 is that...- hhnguyen504

The discovery thread!
Quote: hahaha I didn't quite mean to.. They just happen to be my other favorite iems. My 101s do give my M2s a run for their money in sound though. Overall quality still goes to Brainwavz though. They really make quality earphones packed with accessories for a great price. Even better if...- hhnguyen504

Quote: Lol!!! I think those will have to be next on my list once I feel the need to spend more on phones. Dsnuts really sparked my interest with all that rave about those nanotubes and not to mention how close they sound to JVC's newest line. I first need to buy a pair of fr201's for my gf...- hhnguyen504

Quick newbie comparison between my new FX101 and my older Brainwavz M2: Build Quality The fx101's build is all plastic and rubber I think. The housings are fairly lightweight but don't really feel cheap. The housing is also protected by rubber which I think also keeps the ports...- hhnguyen504

Need help finding an unbreakable IEM
I saw the JLABS J4 that looks pretty rugged. Aluminum casings and kevlar enforced wire seems tough enough. I don't own them so I can't comment on the sound signature. Might not be worth $40 though.- hhnguyen504

The discovery thread!
Got my FX101's last week and after wrestling to get the packaging opened, burned them in for few days with BassDrive. I'm definitely no audiophile but these things sound awesome. Don't really have a critical ear to do A/B's but I do love the bass on these. My super-basshead younger brother says...- hhnguyen504

The discovery thread!
Man really wanted to get those FX40's to see what those carbon nanotubes are all about but I sure do miss having a bassy iem like my old MEE M9's or my M6's. (For some strange reason, my little bro's black M6's sound better than my clear M6's - a lot more bass.but sadly both seem pretty muddy.) ...- hhnguyen504

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Hey I got mine a few weeks ago (whenever they went on sale) and I love these things. These things sound awesome. Upon opening, I naturally fit them in my ears with the L and R right-side up with the cord wrapped over my ears (I thought this was a no-brainer from the looks of the housing but...- hhnguyen504

Shootout: 114 Portable Headphones Reviewed (Xiaomi Mi Headphones added 04/21/2015)
I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this about the Beats Studio but i think you should have mentioned that although they block out a lot of noise, they leak music as if they were open phones. I guess you kinda did when you said the passive noise blocking sucked.- hhnguyen504

The BEST full sized headphones for $30 USD or less (updated Nov. 27 2013)?
I'm not trying to knock the PortaPros either but I just didn't like them. I tried a pair of the PortaPros in BestBuy but I really couldn't get over the old-school, sit-loosely-on-your-ears phones and that goofy looking design to listen to them very long. They do definitely look portable though.- hhnguyen504
