I'm fine with a can that isn't  as aggresive or extended in the treble. The mid range doesn't have to be as good, but I don't want a decent bass can that recesses the mid range. Another can that has piqued interest is the FA-003.

The top part of my ears felt sore from the Grados, but the itchy bowls are only making it worse. I'm hoping that the pleather pads and a stretch of the headband might make things better. Also, does anyone know if the versions from Beach Camera are legit?

In terms of comfort, how does the ATH ESW9A compare to the Grado SR225is? I've heard that ESW9As are uncomfortable, but are they better than the Grados? The Grados cup nearly covered my whole ears, so if the ESW9A cups are bigger, I might be fine. Also, do they isolate ANY better?

Do these cans retain the sound signature of the hfi 2200/2400 but in a closed design? Are the mids recessed and how are these in terms of detail, imaging, and separation?   These can be had for $140 right now, so I'm strongly considering them.
