Quote: Check if they have for ex. KC1 B2K3 code where "B" stands for Blackburn factory in England and D getter then it's 100% original Mullard. Here is very useful site where you can check tube manufacture codes "http://www.audiotubes.com/mullcode.htm".- lukaskite

The Woo Audio 2
EZ80 shoot-out... Some time ago i promised a review of couple woo 2 rectifiers. As all wa2 owners know it's hard to find any info on these so the only way to learn something is an old trick that's called "Buy and Try". For review purposes i decided to use Siemens E88cc/Tungsol 5998...- lukaskite

Quote: warm, soft-treble - tubes for the WA2? If someone looking for warm tubes for wa2 then i recommend: -Amperex BB ECC88 from 1960 and up (they are the softest/warmest drivers i have ever heard, pretty big soundstage with TS 5998), -Philips miniwatt EZ80 (especially with code...- lukaskite

Review of the Audio-gd DAC-19 DSP & C2 amp - The ACSS connection
When you put jumper at first two pins the pll is on and that's the stock setting (atleast in V4 version). When all of the jumpers are removed you have: -pll off, --130 attenuation, -8x oversampling, -dither on. This is the most revealing combo but your need to have...- lukaskite

Quote: Well my 6as7g GEC's are definitely the last in smoothing the sound compared to rest of the pack as they bring a lot of detail from background so if you have any weakens in your setup they will show it .- lukaskite

One note about TS 7236. I listening to them right now on my wa2 and its a nice sounding tube BUT now were near TS 5988 or 6as7g GEC. They lacks transparency/focus, tends to blend instruments together, smooths out everything and sound stage is more 2D like, the sound is bright but...- lukaskite

WA2 purchase; upgrades worth the $$$?
Quote: Hi! I had the same dilemma 6 months ago and i opted with blackgates only because: -it's very hard to swap them by yourself and expensive if you want to upgrade them latter on, -they give woo a bit better bas performance resolution and even with them it somewhat lacks...- lukaskite

Quote: Thanks! As for the ez80 review i'm still waiting for siemens and brimars to do it. I can only say that putting the right rectifier can bring woo to totally different level (especially in the 3D sound stage/resolution department).- lukaskite
