erm... because i too was looking for earphone, i came across the hippo shroom or hippo something which according to reviews, have way enough BASS(to quote you) and also does the highs and mids well, maybe i should look at the hippo VB myself... can anyone comment on the amount of noise...

Yes, blue moon is a song from an anime; Shugo Chara and as to why the recorder was chosen as a first instrument, it is most likely because not only is it easy to learn, a lot of tunes can be played on it and it is easy to transport!^^ as to buying custom IEM... i wonder if i would ever go that...
