Fake IE8
@zipur from your pictures, the S logo lines seem thicker although this might be because of lighting. and there are couple more types of tips included with mine. also, on my ie8's jack, I can't see the white stuff inside that can be seen inside yours. Again, this could be bad lighting...- j57park

How good is the Cowon J3's UI?
it's by no means as intuitive as apple but I actually got used to it quicker than I thought. Although I only use my j3 for music only. Everything else including videos I use my iphone 4. The thing with custom UI is that 99% of them are made for s9 which means that they don't work 100% with...- j57park

iPod Touch 4G or Cowon S9?
i have iphone 4 and cowon j3 but i say for music-only - i say go for the cowon. sound is terrific with enhancements. but for entertainment including video, get the ipod or iphone 4. The screen on j3, and I'd expect same for s9 is too small to watch anything over 2 minutes imo.- j57park

iPod Touch 4G or Cowon S9?
A lot of users, myself included, made a EQ setting with frequency either turned up all the way or turned down all the way. When we transfer the songs over to the ipod, the song does not sound harsh and sounds like there's no change. Try this yourself and tell us if you really hear...- j57park

iPod Touch 4G or Cowon S9?
I'm pretty sure that setting up the EQ through iTunes and importing those songs through to the iPhone or the iPod does not affect the sound quality at all. Unless Apple came up with this in the last couple of months. Changing the EQ through iTunes only affect it when you are playing...- j57park

The best Audiophile MP3 Player?
Ya I was torn between j3 or the sflo2 but the elementary UI and the kindergarten battery life really needs to be improved. I thought cowon d2+'s UI was terrible but using sflo2 makes me wonder who deemed this product to be ready for public release.- j57park

IE8 tip recommendations? (Not Comply's)
de-core'ing the shure olive tip is easier than one would expect. It literally takes about 5 seconds with a small kitchen/pocket knife. But they do not fit too secure. It feels like they can fall out when hanging from your t-shirt or something. I de-core the complys, cut about 1/3 off and...- j57park

Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread
I find the ie8 sounds a bit too dark for my taste with comply tips. They do provide the best seal and isolation for me but the sound is too dark. Personally, I love sony hybrid tips with my ie8. Rather comfortable and provides a nice balanced bass while not overpowering the treble.- j57park

Looks legit to me. - thin angled lines around the S - red chip in cable They do sound a bit dark at first. With burn in they get more and more refined. Quote:- j57park

Klipsch S4i lacking bass, looking for alternatives, please advise
Well, I read that S4 take quite a long time for burn-in. So maybe you should leave it with music on for a day or two and see if that changes anything. I suggest staying away from ebay unless you know the person is authorized reseller. I forgot the name but I think razordog (?) has the ie8...- j57park

Klipsch S4i lacking bass, looking for alternatives, please advise
It seems that the ie8 will satisfy your bass needs. From what I read and my brief experience with the S4, I thought the bass there was plenty, but still, ie8 bass is thumping. You can usually find used ie8 around low to mid $200 range. Just be sure to make sure they are authentic as there are a...- j57park
