choices on studio headphones!
Quote: They are huge and heavy...not good in a studio environment. Heavy? Unwieldy? They're large headphones, but they're not huge, and they're certainly not heavy/unwieldy Quote: with the AKG K-271 it is easy to remove one pad off the ear without throwing the whole headphone...- Evilson

Tell me why you hate the A900!
hfk88, the A900 does get better with break in. The bass tightened up quite a bit on mine and the brightness gets tamed.- Evilson

Is there a HeadFi for home theater/stereo?
www.hometheaterforum.com The greatest HT site on the web. Robert Harris(the guy who did the Lawrence of Arabia restoration for DVD) often posts there. Really cool.- Evilson

Some guys on another forum say the Audigy 2 is superior to the AV-710 for music...
Quote: I am fully prepared to believe the Audigy may have made good improvements. Its the fashion on headfi to knock the Audigy cards, and probably for good reasons a lot of the time, but I have not really read much about the A2, however, I find it difficult to believe its quite as bad as...- Evilson

My New Headsave Classic - First Opinions
Quote: I usually don't put much faith in music reviews (after all, they pretty much wrote off an entire genre I love, industrial), but got a link? Nope. Sunday Morning paper in the Calendar section.- Evilson

Headphones for both studio and home listening (200$)?
The price may be inflated or not, but I would have paid even more for my A900 I would easily recommend them for home use, but dunno about studio use.- Evilson

do sennheiser employees use aftermarket cables for their senn phones?
Don't some people prefer the stock cables? I've read that the aftermarket cables can be TOO revealing -

Need expert opinion...
Quote: also the most comfortable around - much more comfy than the A9000s, even though those are quite comfortable. You mean the A900. I've read that some people didn't find the 595 as comfy as the 580/600/650 headphones, while most everyone thinks the A900 are supremely comfy.- Evilson

so my a500s showed up yesterday
Quote: The Revo is obsolete in our circles by now. The common recommended "budget" card is the Chaintech, and the next significant step up is the E-MU 0404. I would say that the Revo is still a better card. Better drivers, less problems It's just that the Chaintech's so cheap...- Evilson

good phones for ~ $100-150 (tops)?
The A900 is VERY comfortable, and the sound is very good. For walking around, etc., there shouldn't be a problem. Again, the isolation isn't bad, but if you're going to be using a vacuum cleaner, I'm guessing that canalphones are your only choice.- Evilson

whats the big deal with the iPod?
Quote: The reason I can see the Ipod getting all the praise that it gets is because it is easy to use. You look at it and it just looks simple. It is totally minimalistic, and in being so it catches the eye. Basically it has an enormouse target audience because relatively anyone can pick...- Evilson

good phones for ~ $100-150 (tops)?
Quote: How much noise isolation do you need? With the music on, the A900 provides some isolation, but you still hear most loud noises from outside. If you need complete isolation, the er6i might be a better choice. I don't believe the A500, if same as the A900(at a low to moderate...- Evilson

A900 initial impressions alongside HD600
'Something about this site that makes me keep coming back, stupid, screw*ing head-fi... Anyways, the A900 get really comfy after they loosen up. I had the same problem, sweating due to hot weather, but I have absolutely no problems anymore. Don't have the 580 or the 600, but the bass on the...- Evilson

what do you guys think of rap?
A lot of you are talking plain bull. Generalizing and ripping. Rock has its fair share of morons, so trying to tear apart rap because you don't like or understand it isn't fair, especially when most other genres of pop music today sucks worse. I've yet to hear a single outstanding rock album...
