Used Sennheiser HD 800 headphones in excellent condition. From 2014, serial number 28XXX. I purchased these used in 2016 (here on Head-Fi) - I'm the second owner. The first owner installed the SDR mod. I've used them on and off the past 6+ years, and they are still in perfect working...- tyty5150

Official Team Gin-Fi! Gin Appreciation Thread
This is an old thread... But if anybody still lurks, check out Genius Liquids in Austin, TX. They make a great Navy Strength gin. Also, Hendrick's and Uncle Val's are good IMHO. Gin on ice is a great accompaniment to headphone listening sessions... Happy drinking/listening!- tyty5150

Back Again Asking For Yet Another Recommendation...
Thanks for the reading material. I'll see where it leads, hopefully not down the rabbit hole... Also, I'd love to get both. That'd be optimal, and more fun anyway.- tyty5150

Back Again Asking For Yet Another Recommendation...
It seems my main choices are LCD-X and SR-207 (or any Stax for that matter). I like both of the graphs provided for FR curves. I would probably be happy with either. Chances are I will not be able to audition for comparison, but if there is anybody out there willing to let me give it a go...- tyty5150

I think I would like "pretty speaker like" sounding cans. But how early is that roll off in the bass? Also, MA, I've been gone for a few days on a vacation of sorts, did that review ever come out?- tyty5150

Yes, I've seen them on amazon, though I don't see them on headdirect. Are you sure they're still in production or is it more of a 'these are inventory that never sold so we reduced the price' kinda thing?- tyty5150

I figured as much. I recall a thread about neutral vs. natural, I cannot remember which is which, and I suppose I was probing a little. And yes, I've seen this graph before, on Tyll's website. Are you friends with ultrabike, the user that did the requests? Or Tyll? Or both?- tyty5150

Back Again Asking For Yet Another Recommendation...
Isn't the company that makes Ether headphones a success story about a guy on head-fi that used to mod people's T50RP headphones? I've been out of the loop, but I think that might be right. So far the major contenders are Stax, per MA, and LCD-X from a couple of people. Ether fitting...- tyty5150

You can trust me :) I have positive feedback! Correct, I'm not opposed to this. But I do like DIY stuff, and have no idea what is in the DIY world of electrostatics. I'm sure there are some amps kits or designs out there for the hobbyist... HE-560 noted, as well as LCD-X. The...- tyty5150

Looked over some of the material, lead me to reading some other things. I would very much like to listen to some Stax now. You made mention of the SR-207, seems like a good entry. If I don't like the sound, then so be it, I didn't drop a pretty dime to get the SR-009. Just when I had found...- tyty5150

Thanks for the reading material Music Alchemist. I'll read and let you know my thoughts soon. BoC is my fav too. Was introduced in 2007 but didn't really start listening until '09. Darn shame.- tyty5150

Hello all, I'll start off by saying this is probably going to be a long message, and I don't want it to be daunting, so I'll bold a section title later that will be the basics of that which I'm seeking. It's been a long time... I got caught up in life (school, relocation, first...- tyty5150

Flawless albums
After reading most of this thread, I am intrigued and excited about all of the music listed. I see much I love; Rush's material as well as Van Halen's 1984, some newer stuff such as Aloe Blacc, Adele, and Florence + the Machine, and a few electronic/ambient artists such as Boards of Canada... -
