FiiO F9, F9Pro-Detachable MMCX connector,Hi-Res Audio Certified,2.5mm TRRS/3.5mm audio cable
I haven't auditioned the EX1 v2 but I have the first generation. I also acquired the F9 SE (non-balanced version), thinking it might be an upgrade to EX1 v1. For my taste, it is not. The bass on the F9 is more prominent in the 50/60-200/250 Hz region, but on sub-bass, the EX1 surpasses the F9...- sepukku

iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review
Mersi, George :) I have a different model, with the i7 7700hq and gtx 1070, but i suppose it uses the same dac/amp. Being that it sounds much better than that, it also means it sounds equally better than the nano variant, which definitely wasn't an improvement over the laptop hp out. Was...- sepukku

iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review
Any good reason to pair this with Fiio F9 on a last gen Clevo laptop that actually sounds quite decent? There is an ESS-sabre headphone amplifier sticker on the laptop but I'm positively sure there is no ESS Sabre DAC inside, because I've checked for it and the codec is a realtek alc 892 anyway...- sepukku

FiiO F9, F9Pro-Detachable MMCX connector,Hi-Res Audio Certified,2.5mm TRRS/3.5mm audio cable
It could also be the definition of perseverance. Anyway, I don't get the point of calling the FIIO F9 (1st batch) a beta-item. Really there are so many examples of n-th revision of much more expensive products and from way, way more consecrated brands of like 80+ yo old and pioneers of their...- sepukku

New M8 DAC from SMSL (9018/XMOS)
Thanks, but it does not ship to Europe, and it would be +24% VAT at least. Price in Europe is Eur 200, gotta live with it. And I'm talking about the non LE variant.- sepukku

New M8 DAC from SMSL (9018/XMOS)
Thanks, I've already ordered the iDSD. If I'm not satisfied with it, at least I know that I have to to throw in 1k+ for the start, to even have the chance to be satisfied with the SQ.- sepukku

New M8 DAC from SMSL (9018/XMOS)
Looking for a sub 200 DAC for my laptop, and the only real options seem to be ifi nano idsd or smsl m6. I could stretch by budget to 250, the price of m8, but I really wonder if it's worthy. Gonna use it with headphones only, and people say that M6 has a better hp output than the M8. Any opinion...- sepukku

Best DAP under $200?
If we were more civilized and not attack a person's opinion, this would probably be a much better place, where people could really form themselves a opinion about a product. As it is, that DAP is not worthy a single dollar in my opinon. My ALC codec (latest generation, true) beats it in almost...- sepukku

Best DAP under $200?
I wouldn't recommend Fiio X1 at all, in any price range. If someone would offer it to me for free, I wouldn't take it for myself. This DAP has absolutely no highs, they roll off at about 10-12 KHz, which is outrageous. For anyone that doesn't stand highs (?!?) it could probably be a good choice...- sepukku
