As far as I Know, the twisted pair is used in order to reduce the electromagnetic inductance between two parallel cables. This concept is used in telephonic cables and in computers network cables(see utp, stp, or ftp cables) for instance. Hope this help.

Yes, I didn´t know about Nuforce. So I read the reviews, and as I prefer more bassed models, I thinking of the NE7-M and the Image 4S. Also I´m thinking on the Future sonics FS1 HD, which I will add to the list.

Yes for what I read they seem to be a good choice. I read good comments also about the V mode, but for what you say it seems that they saturate the ears a little.
