Has anyone tried to make a blind cables test?

Quick A/B tests don't work unless the differences are quite large. I know the sound of my hifi like the back of my hand and small differences are quite obvious to me.   Regarding expectation bias - I must have some kind of reverse expectation bias because I don't usually like the sound of...

Capacitor burn in, how long does it really take?

Oscon capacitors sound very different when run-in for a day or so. They start off sounding a bit thin or 2d, but open up and sound very different after a good run-in. A couple of times when this happened to me I nearly removed the capacitor because the sound was that bad. I only noticed a...

portable AMP for Teclast t51 and Earsonics sm3

Yep, Bennyboy. . .  It's a great amp and works really well with the HD650's - I'm amazed something so small can drive the hd650's so loud !

The guy I bought my Headstage Arrow from used SM3's, he was using the money to upgrade his DAP.

    S:flo2 + Sennheiser IE8:do I need an amplifier?

I've got an S:flo2 but with Sennheiser HD25 1 -ii and some Sennheiser CX400 in ear buds. It sounds a little rough in the high frequencies to my ears (only on some tracks), so i've just bought a second hand Headstage Arrow 12HE to see if that sorts out the problem. Other amps to look out for...

    S:flo2 impressions thread

Quote:     Ok, I will try to disconnect it later to see if the charging screen pops up.   I should have known it would sound better after a bit of running-in. I used to hear improvements with running-in all the time, when modding my Naim kit....

    S:flo2 impressions thread

My S:flo2 arrived today. I plugged it into the PC to charge it (the wall charger I recieved had a two pin plug. In the UK we use 3 pin plugs) but I can't tell if it's charging - How to you know if it's charging?   Just tried it with my HD25 1 - ii with HD600 cable, playing FLAC. The sound...

What amp for S:flo2 and Sennheiser HD25-1 ii ???

It's a shame the HO out isn't that great - oh well...   That's interesting about adding an external battery. . . Before I got into Head-fi, I was an active member of the www.pinkfishmedia.net DIY room (I sold all my hifi because the girlfriend kept nagging me about it) One thing I learnt was...

Thank's for the reply, I'll wait for the Arrow - it'll give me something to look forward too :)   How do you find the S:flo2 + HD25's sound without an amp?

What amp for S:flo2 and Sennheiser HD25-1 ii ???

My Nationite S:flo2 should arrive any day and i'd like a portable amp to go with it. The headphones are Sennheiser hd25-1 ii, I also have some HD650's.   After loads of reading on here, I thought the ibasso d4 looked pretty good, but now i'm thinking about getting a Headstage Arrow 12HE.  ...

Best Un Amped Headphones.... recommend please.

I've not tried the Grado SR225, but I tried a few other Grado models and found them all very uncomfortable. I don't like the coarse  sponge pressed against my ears.   I'd have thought the Sennheiser HD25 mk2 would be the idea choice for a DJ.

    Headphones for Nationite S:Flo2 ?

Hi Guys, If I were to buy a Nationite S:Flo2, what headphones would be a good match? I don't want to use an amp because I want the system to be simple and portable. I would only ever use them indoors though. I have some Sennheiser HD650's but i'd imagine the S:flo2 wouldn't have the...

I'm new here, but I wonder where you bought them from (could they be fake?) Also, what amp/source are you using them with (Not that I know a good amp/source from a bad one!)

Headphones to go with Cowon D2+

Hi Guys, This is my first post on here. I was heavily into home hifi, but constant nagging from the girlfriend has made me sell all my gear (Everything for sale - pink fish media) (I've still got some for sale if you're interested?) I was thinking about getting the Cowon D2+ and a pair of...
