Most comfortable I own - JVC HA-S700   Most comfortable I have ever worn - BOSE QC15

For the record, the Bose QC 15s are the most comfortable pair of headphones that I have ever worn   But as far as sound quality and isolation goes, I am more impressed with my 30 dollar JVCs and a pair of broken Altecs I picked up for 5

You're just paranoid, the static-like sound is not because of your headphones   *edit - maybe we are hearing something different - I can hear a static/cymbal-like sound in both drivers of any set of headphones

Depends on the situation. Lately I've been wearing my around ears for the majority of my music listening time primarily because they are so much more comfortable. However, when I go to work or am doing something that I feel needs extra isolation I will wear some IEMs.
