Selling my NAD Masters Series M51 DAC, which was What Hi-Fi?’s best DAC over £1200 some years ago and got lots of great reviews. Has some cool features like HDMI pass through for video, both balanced and unbalanced outputs and fancy volume control (blurb: “The extreme headroom afforded by the...- Somnambulist

AirPods Max
I managed to get a pair of these for £375 (RRP is £549 here, eBay vendor matched the Amazon sale price and also had a 20% off code running at the time). Quite impressed for what I’ll use them for. Anyway, I went and asked Mimi directly about when they’ll get the AirPods Max added to the...- Somnambulist

AirPods Max
As it happens, the head of engineering at B&W (a guy called Stuart Nevill) left the company a couple of years ago to be Apple’s ‘Audio Acoustic Manager’. EDIT - already pointed out by someone else!- Somnambulist

AAW Capri Balanced Lightning Audio Cable, with Type-C variant
Yep, they want me to send it back to Singapore (at my own expense) for the 2nd time in a couple of months. To top if off my Apple Lightning to 3.5mm dongle has also died. :(- Somnambulist

Massdrop x Noble X Universal IEMs Review / Preview
Does anyone have any impressions of the Lightning cable? The AAW Capri cable I've owned a while is starting to vex me and while there's nothing intrinsically wrong with the dongle Apple provides with the stock IEM cable I have, I'd prefer a neater single cable solution.- Somnambulist

AAW Capri Balanced Lightning Audio Cable, with Type-C variant
Since the latest iOS update mine keeps disconnecting - i.e. I'll have the cable plugged in but then playback pauses and when you hit play again the phone starts playing music through the speakers... might have to try the Noble Lightning cable (is it certified?) since I can now have an Apple...- Somnambulist

AAW Capri Balanced Lightning Audio Cable, with Type-C variant
Yes, I should have said it has to be MFI certified as well. Re the Watch, I didn't know you could do that - I was going to pre-order an non-cellular S3 Sport tomorrow - that'll come in handy! Weirdly I've just tried the Capri on my 2nd gen iPad Pro and it's super quiet. Now I've tried it again...- Somnambulist

AAW Capri Balanced Lightning Audio Cable, with Type-C variant
Got my replacement cable back too. Still hisses but it'll do for the noisy commute where I appreciate the physical controls and don't have to worry about the Apple dongle getting damaged or worn. Any other 2 pin to Lightning cables out there other than the Noble cable one?- Somnambulist

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors
AAW are allowing backers to post their cables back for a free hardware fix, which should hopefully reduce the hiss enough to make it unnoticeable... so I'll be posting mine off tomorrow!- Somnambulist

AAW Capri Balanced Lightning Audio Cable, with Type-C variant
My MG6 HX's are: 32ohm Impedance Sensitivity 114dB @ 30Hz Don't know how that compares to others. Will shoot you a mail as when I plug the Capri in and start using my phone it's like having a TV playing static running in the background.- Somnambulist

i1, born for iPhone7, the first " MFi " headphone amplifier from FiiO
I have the AAW cable (Lightning to 2-Pin in my case) and it suffers from constant hiss, which irks me to no end as the Apple dongle is silent. It's such a good idea but so far the execution hasn't quite managed to equal the idea. Other owners have reported the same too. I might try the Fiio as...- Somnambulist

AAW Capri Balanced Lightning Audio Cable, with Type-C variant
Another software update; V2.1.6 Still nosiy. Is the only alternative a stock IEM cable and the Fiio dongle at the moment? I just don't trust the durability of the Apple dongle which was the main reason I got this.- Somnambulist

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors
Probably just an early version? Cheers. The iPhone and Capri cable/DAC/amp both drive them louder than I can listen to. I just find it ridiculous AAW couldn't make this thing silent when Apple's free dongle does it perfectly. The dongle is too flimsy and the FS cable being right-angled makes...- Somnambulist

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors
No idea. I presume it makes it less likely that the connector could get pulled about and the pins bent since they're now shielded slightly, and perhaps they didn't have room to make it recessed which would accomplish the same thing. Never seemed like an issue anyway. In any case I'm still on the...- Somnambulist

AAW Capri Balanced Lightning Audio Cable, with Type-C variant
Yes it's very disappointing. Being dynamic drivers especially I would have thought mine were easy to drive and hiss shouldn't be an issue. It's not something I can hear if I'm listening to music commuting but certainly in a quiet environment it's off-putting and like you say, the freebie dongle...- Somnambulist

Got mine back. Pleasure to deal with FS - great comms throughout. Isolation improvements are immediately apparent which in turn makes them sound better in noisier environments. General SQ improvements... not sure, will need time to listen more. Took some pictures. You can see the 'pipework' for...- Somnambulist
