I have had the BTG for some time now. I HIGHLY prefer it to the stock cable, both in terms of ergonomics and sound. This cable is awesome.- JCS

FitEar TO GO! & Universal Series --- Suyama's custom IEM, made universal!
Regarding fit, I would highly recommend the Ortofon tips. I tried all the stock tips that come with the FitEar and none of them perform as well as the Ortofons. Bass quantity, especially, was enhanced by the seal afforded by the Ortofons. I hope to post my impressions soon. The...- JCS

Best IEM / CIEM for me 500 dollars or below.
I have the SE 530's and I can echo that the 535 are unlikely to be a good fit for what you are looking for. I have had the JH16s and those were absolutely godly for rock. My understanding is that the JH5's have a similar signature, and at $399 are within your budget. I am not...- JCS

Dae Han Min Guk (South Korea) Lounge & Retailers [LISTING]
At COEX there are two shops that have some decent headphone offerings: The Sony store (close to the Burger King - 1st floor). The a# shop (Apple reseller). The Samsung Delight store at Gangnam station also has some decent iems in stock. None of these come close to touching...- JCS

FitEar TO GO! & Universal Series --- Suyama's custom IEM, made universal!
Hello all, I am trying to decide between the following to replace my lost JH16s and I'd be grateful for your opinions: TG334 JH13 JH3A My favorite sound signature ever is Grado SR60i, with the vent holes and quarter hole mods. Any audiophiles out there who...- JCS

JH Audio JH-13 PRO impressions thread
I'm an international client and I've had positive experiences. When I ordered my JH16s, they arrived in a preposterously quick 10 days (counting from the moment I dropped off the impressions to FedEx) with no issues with fit or anything like that. When I moronically snapped off the cable...- JCS

Shure SE535 or 1964 T?
I listened to my SE 530's recently and I was impressed with how well they measured up to my JH-16's. With the comply tips, the 530s are more comfortable, though obviously customs are not uncomfortable. The JH-16's are my IEM of choice when I'm out and about while the SE 530s are relegated...- JCS

been in denial about being a basshead, please help me embrace it
If you can stand 192k or 320k, I'd highly recommend a second look at the Sony line. Awesome bass. I have them paired with JH-16s and the bass is amazing. I cannot discern the difference between 320k and FLAC, but that's just me. If you are looking for bass, I would discourage you from the...- JCS

Upgrading from Ultimate Ears Triple fi 10 to JH audio JH|16
I went from the Shure SE530 to the JH16. I'm not sure if burn-in is a real thing (I suspect it's more personal adjustment) but I do judge an IEM based on how little time it takes for me to acclimate to its sound. It took me several months to warm up to the Shures but it only took me about two...- JCS

Seoul, Korea: Ear impressions / molds
Hello Jedaite, I honestly cannot remember how to get there... it's pretty hard to figure it out from a map. What I did was I called http://soundcat.com/en/contact.html and there was a guy who spoke English. He told me which station to get off at and gave me directions from there. I had to...- JCS

Looking for a new sony
I would highly, highly recommend the A728. It not only sounds amazing (better to my ears than the Clip+, HM-602, Touch, and iPhone 4S) but it's also been especially durable; it's been with me since 2008 and it's still going strong. It's the only mp3 player I've truly loved. Caveat...- JCS

iPhone 4S
Straight out of the jack, I still prefer my Sony A728; the 728 is crisper, punchier, and livelier. However, the 728's hiss sounds like a muffled rain-storm while the iPhone 4S is eerily quiet.- JCS

JHA consumer experience thread (Positive=Yes, Negative=No)
Quote: Mine were "bent" a little and wouldn't sit flush for one IEM; I thought it was a manufacturing error. Once I used a (tiny!) bit of force, I corrected it and all pins sit dead flush with both IEMs now.- JCS

90 minutes in Narita... suggestions?
Hey guys and gals, I have a 90 minute layover in Narita and I'm wondering if you could suggest any cool electronics shops to visit, preferably in Terminal 2. Or any cool Japanese mp3 players. Thanks in advance,- JCS

JHA consumer experience thread (Positive=Yes, Negative=No)
JH16: Positive Response time: Emails returned within a day. My one and only call was picked up. Polite and civil. Turn-around time: Preposterously quick. I live in Seoul, Korea and I sent my impressions via FedEx on a Friday afternoon. I received the JH16s the next Monday. This...- JCS

What's the best sounding DAP on the market ????
Quote: As a Sony fan-boy, this, to me, is a non-issue mostly because of the sturdiness of the Walkmen I've owned. My nano started malfunctioning several months after purchase. My HM-602 quit on me after 2 weeks. My Touch was fine, but since I sold it after a few months, I can't speak...- JCS

What's the best sounding DAP on the market ????
I like Sony. I've had the Touch (3g), HifiMan HM-602, Nano (really old model), Clip+, and the Sony A728 and S754. I demoed a few PMPs and the J3. Touch 3G: Like watered down whiskey; thin, cold, and not enough oomph. The EQ was unusable. I did get a brief demo with the new EQ on a...- JCS

Seoul, Korea: Ear impressions / molds

Sansa Clip+ and Shure SE530 = good choice?
I have the Clip+ and Shure combo and I absolutely hate it. I can't put my finger on it but everything sounds fake no matter the settings: flat EQ, v-shaped EQ, Rockbox EQ, etc. Yes, I tried it with FLAC. It sounds like garbage compared to my Walkman / SE530 set up. It does much better when...- JCS

Seoul, Korea: Ear impressions / molds
Hey guys, Does anybody know where to get ear impressions with high-viscosity silicone in Seoul, Korea? I tried the ENT today and he said he could only do rubber. There was a hearing aid company in the same building who said that silicone molds were impossible for them. This is a...- JCS

Sony S754
My new toy, the Sony Walkman S754: The sound is wonderful: crisp, and punchy. I demoed the Cowon J3 and the Walkman side-by-side and I couldn't get over the artificiality of the J3's sound. True, the Walkman's sound may be colored but it sounds...- JCS
