    Best mids : hd555 or hd448?

I'm interested in finding out which would be the best as far as mids are concerned, not taking the price into account. I've had the 555s at a point, i like their mids. Does the 448 bring something else to the table? More detailed? Forward?

    Grado SR60i worth 110$?

the Alessandro site is working fine, but the java applet that used to serve as a basket isn't there anymore. As such, i can't order. Are there any other small sounstage, forward-sounding mids cans out there? I see mochan has suggested ATH M50... Also, more opinions on the bang-for-buck...

    Grado SR60i worth 110$?

Background: i already have Beyer DT440s and Philips SHP9000 (the top end philips). I'd really like something with much more forward mids and a very small soundstage, yet fairly good detail reproduction. I listen to just about anything, can't point out a specific genre. This is the only...

Asus xonar ds volume & hf driving problem

Hello I have an Asus Xonar DS, with a JRC5332 opamp for front/headphone output. The headphones I'm using are Philips SHP9000s (32 ohm, but otherwise inefficient and very finicky with amps, a meier corda arietta drives them beautifully, they sound about on par with HD595, but I'm not...

Blown HD555 drivers? "farting" under 100hz

I think you've misunderstood me, i am driving them directly from the soundcard. Anyway, in case anyone hear has blown or damaged a pair of headphones... has the problem manifested ONLY in the lower bass registered? I don't have that many a source on hand, and my mp3 player isn't quite up to par...

Blown HD555 drivers? "farting" under 100hz

I seem to be able to duplicate the issue with my PX100s, and those have NEVER been abused in the slightest, so maybe it's the output, maybe it's the hairs. I'll let you know, thanks for all the help By the way: is this something that could happen because of the amp, or do amps clip just at...

Blown HD555 drivers? "farting" under 100hz

No, it's not a "gap". I forgot the exact word, but it sounds like blowing air through the mouth with tightly closed lips. "Raspberries", was it? It happens at ANY volume, that's the problem. If it only happened with the volume turned up then i'd be sure i ruined the drivers, but I can hear it...

Blown HD555 drivers? "farting" under 100hz

I thought about the music being the culprit, but the flaw is obvious with uncompressed computer generated 20-100hz tones, so that's not it.

Blown HD555 drivers? "farting" under 100hz

Hello, i have a bit of a problem. I have a paird of Senn HD555s that i use at very reasonable listening levels. The source is an Audigy SE (I know, I know) From about 100hz downwards, i hear a "flutter", something resembling a farting sound. Worse than that, the "flutter" seems to remain...

Need something Like HD580s but with pronounced Bass

A digital hardware EQ is the same as a software EQ with some limiting built-in or added by some 3rd party piece of software. So why pay >180 USD on a Behringer? Winamp/Foobar + some limiting plugin will do just fine . Even better, pull down Winamp's "preamp" a few notches, and then you can get...

    upgrade from bose triports

Cyclone, those were pounds sterling, not euros . He basically said he's got from US$150 to US$200 to spend on cans I'd say that, if he needs to buy new, some HD595s would be nice... they don't isolate, but the Triports don't do all that well either . Some DT440s would hit the spot too...

    "Friday Night"

There's a Bonnie Tyler style song ( I know, I know, it's just that this... i'm obsessed with ) ... the lyrics contain a large amount of "Friday Niight" moaned in a melancholical voice ... Do you have any idea as to who might be the singer and what might be the name of the song?

    Startup: headphone store

I want to start a headphone/accessories store in (don't laugh, people here need headphones, too) Romania. The only models one can find locally are some overpriced Sony v300/v500/v600 headphones, but even those have a ~1 month waiting period. I was thinking about buying online and selling here...

What velour pads fit the DT660?

Ah, so the DT880 pads are all it takes? I've read that those are somewhat denser and taller than the DT660 pads... is that an issue? My main concern is sweating... so the pleather pads are out... Which is better in this regard? Velour pads or the standard DT660 pads?

What velour pads fit the DT660?

I've heard that the DT660s come with some cheap-looking and feeling cloth instead of the usual Beyer (DT770,880,531-like) velour pads. Can one get velour pads that fit the HD660s? Where? At what price? I haven't been able to find any, but JensL said that 531 pads fit the 440/660/860...
