Used both 250/600 ohm DT880's, balanced and unbalanced. Currently using the Premium/Manufaktur models. Can't say there is a great deal of difference since the drivers are obviously identical. I'd go for the flattest of the Beyers, the DT880's for recording and mixing. AKG 701/2's are maybe slightly more analytic, but they're also open, therefore not appropriate for recording vocals et al.
